Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He seems startled.
"I just don't get how it, like... vanishes." He says. "You get close, it's there. You step away, and it's like it isn't."

 

"Oh, I guess it'd be nice to see how the others are. Thanks, Emerald." Artemis says, walking to the exit of Xlentia's chambers, only to miss slightly and bang hard against the door, cursing.

 

"Magic. That's usually the explanation to things you don't understand at first."

 

Xlentia can't hide a smile as Emerald just sighs.

"Magic? So, like, the humans making armor is magic? And their Inhibitor is magic?"

 

"That, or advanced technology. I'd imagine the armor is made from forging, but the inhibitor, I'm not entirely sure. It's probably magic, though, considering it uses souls."

 

Artemis re-orients herself and fixes the vines over her eye, before leaving Xlentia's chambers and trying to head to the portal room, bumping into things occasionally along the way due to her lack of depth perception.

 

"Souls?" Gau asks, Ytir also seeming to invite himself in.
"Souls are something to do with everything, I think." He comments.

A cloaked guard sighs.
"The eyepatch isn't helping you look any cooler." They comment, putting up a cushioned barrier between Artemis and another statue.

 

"Most people have one. They're used in several magical things, such as voodoo. I don't have one, though, because I'm built."

 

"So... living things. They're in living things."

 

"Yes, that's a fair way to sum it up."

 

"It's not a fashion statement, I...uh...ran into a door." Artemis says, lifting the vines from her eye and revealing a swollen, black eye.

 

"Why don't you heal it?" The guard asks. "Besides, you had them over your eyes when you ran into Mistress' door."

"Then, how do things like golems or you... seem alive? Is... that how you word it?"

 

"I am healing it, but it's hard to focus on healing an eye whilst doing other things," Artemis says, putting the vines back over, "It happened back at the Shadow Palace, anyway. Though Xlentia's door didn't help."

 

"Well, do you want to be bump-free escorted to the Maralune portal?"

 

"Yes, please." Artemis says, putting a hand over her eye to try and assist healing.

 

"Different things work different. A golem friend of mine runs on magic, and will forever do so. I run on electricity, or more specifically, two small boxes inside of me that constantly generate power. That power goes throughout my body, and changes the boxes themselves, making them and infinite electric source."
I explain.

 

Artemis finds herself carried quickly to the portal.
"Be safe."

"Is there elrctricity magic?"

 

"Certainly."
I nod.

 

"Thank you." Artemis says, putting a heavy focus on trying to heal her eye for a moment, before stepping through the portal.

 

Stepping through the portal, she finds Thirteen talking with a few raptors.
"H-hey, robot? Um... human."

"Huh. That's..."
"H-hey..."
