Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"If we have our own ship, could we find her?" Kiin asks, finishing her cone.

 

"I doubt it. Mum has a crew helping her guide the ship, she can cover in a day what we can in ten," Katie says, "It's ok, though. We'll be fine at home."

 

"Not if we use the old Crystal Fleet ships." Kiin says.

 

"Crystal Fleet ships?" Katie asks, confused.

 

"Momma had a fleet."

 

"She did?" Katie asks, "Where can we find it?"

 

"Ask auntie!" Kiin says.

 

"You mean Xlentia? I-I don't think I can." Katie says nervously.

 

"Why not? Auntie's birdwatching!"

 

"U-Uhm, I-I'm just sort of afraid of her." Katie says, taking a bite of her ice-cream.

 

"Why?"

 

"I-I'd rather not talk about it." Katie says, seeming a little shaken as she finishes her ice-cream and bites into the cone.

 

"Then can we go home so I can bring one there?"

 

"Well...mum said we should stay home so we stay safe. I think we shouldn't try and go after her." Katie says.

 

"It still worries me... I want to at least know why she's leaving so soon."
Pause.
"But I won't let you stop me if she doesn't come home in two weeks like she promised."

 

"Mum usually comes home for a bit to drop off her loot and resupply her food and drinks, and see us of course. She's always been like this, and she's always come home." Katie says happily.

 

"And why's that?"

 

"As long as you promise." Kiin says, worried.

"We let you off for the public execution of a monster. Bring back their corpse, and we'll let you in."

 

Katie finishes her cone and hugs Kiin.

"I promise." Katie says.

 

"If you say so. I'll try and find their corpse, I crushed them and left."
I state, then start to walk away.
