Guide How To Appreciate Wiki Translations

This guide uses the wiki and Google translate feature.


Recently the wiki has been flooded with a bunch of quest translations. Now you might not pay these much mind unless you prefer a language other than English - stay tuned.


Below is some recent changes to the wiki (go to the left sidebar and click "Recent Changes"):


Notice the "N" and "/hk" or "/ru"
> N --> New Page
> /hk, /ru --> translated to a different language

Here is where the fun begins.

If Google can translate the page, a notification will pop up. It looks like this:


Otherwise, right click and select translate:


Unfortunately for Google, but FORTUNATELY for us, Google fails.
Here is an example from Thieving Rodents/hk:

Actually 潑婦 does mean bitch (lit. Shrew, "a bad-tempered or aggressively assertive woman"). Whoever translated from eng to hk could not find a better word for 'furious wife' ._.

According to the Google Translate app on my phone, this
"癲雞乸" means "Epileptic chicken"

 

癲 means crazy or insane, 雞 means chicken, 乸 means female
this phrase is only used in the verbal form of Cantonese, so writing it out is supposed to be inappropriate/impossible. 潑婦 is the written equlivilant of such term
The phrase compares the women to be a insane chicken, in order to 1. express hatred towards her actions 2. insult her as an animal 3. chickens do freak out a lot
