SPOILER Detlas Airship, Calo And His Inhuman Speeds

Once you complete Flight in Distress, Calo lets you use his airship to fast travel to Detlas from Letvus Airbase, and vice versa. But really, how fast does this airship go? Im going to try and find this out today using Maths

Firstly, we need Coords.
The Detlas airship is roughly at the coordinates X:420, and Z:-1500
The Letvus airship is roughly at X:-200 and Z:-4970

We can use distance formula to find that the distance is 3524 blocks
-Side note that Z is a stand in for Y because the Y coord in Minecraft is for verticality

Also just for reference 1 Minecraft block is equivalent to 1 meter or 3 feet. So multiply 3524 blocks by 3 and we get 10572 feet.

So if were using real world calculations, detlas and Letvus are only

The flight is around 6.6 seconds; So now we can finally use speed formula
3524 meters divided by 6.6 seconds gives us = 533.939394 meters per second
That is above the speed of sound (340 meters/second) or approximately..

Holy crap!!

That's more than the speed of sound!!

In conclusion, you are traveling from detlas to Letvus at a speed above the sound barrier! That's insane! Next time you go on Calo's airship, take a moment to realize how insane that airship is.

Not surprising, considering that building a city to the scale of 1 block = 1 meter would take up more than the entirety of the servers play area if it's a large city

Full day night cycle is 20 minutes

 

Meaning it's 72 times slower than a real life day, in turn meaning it's about 475 seconds or almost 8 minutes. In reality, it's only going around 7.5 meters a second. Slower than Usain Bolt.

Of course, this ain't reality, so a little suspension of disbelief makes it all fine
