Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It's unbeknownst to me as well."

Having not see it before, Crystal instead goes to the mess hall.

 

"Well... let's just worry about numbers. We've got almost 3 thousand, so we're outnumbered eightfold."

It seems to just be a giant cafeteria, a huge line for being served stretching from the door to the front of the kitchen. However, the line's moving fairly quickly.

 

"Ahahaha, why don't you bend down and KISS MY ASS!" The Shadow says, laughing with an equally evil smirk.

 

"Unfortunately. This means stealth's our best option. Does anybody right now want to offer to run the gauntlet? No judgement to anyone who doesn't."
I offer.

Crystal quickly checks the food items.

 

Nyx cuts into the shadow with a scimitar, the only precision being a large wound.
The effects seem to be like the first shadow, but faster.
"Underestimate the poison that bested Gaia and you will... probably just keep doing what you are now."

Nobody moves.

The menu seems more like a catalogue than a menu...

 

"I didn't think so. Does anyone know anybody that might want to?"

Crystal reads some of the items anyways.

 

The scimitar goes straight through the Shadow, not even touching him, and his handcuffs fall to the ground as he grabs Nyx around the neck, squeezing hard enough to make her head explode as he grows in size.

"Shit! Get the guards!" The forest guardians shout as they run out with the death guardians.

"The only one dying today is you." The Shadow says, growing in power as he crushes Nyx's neck.

 

Nyx simply uses herself as a means to poison the shadow, forcing the toxin through any part of the shadow's body they try to crush her with, though her body feels indestructible at this point from some foreign shielding of some sort.

"Nope." Everyone says.

A hundred types of fish, blood, leafy plants for salads, fifty types of meat, and more...

 

The toxin hardly seems to affect the Shadow much, the Shadow using it as a weapon as he spits it back out at the guards that try to stop him. The Shadow grabs one of the light rifles the now-dead guards were carrying and uses it to fend off the other guards along with the toxin, while a fourth hand picks up another rifle and blasts Nyx with it.

 

The shadow can't spit it up; it starts siphoning his power.
"Hey, bastard, those aren't prisoners. Be a good little prisoner and die when they tell you to."
Seems Virei'tus has showed up, and tries smiting the shadow just to see if it serves as a distraction.

 

"Well, we might be able to find someone."

Crystal exits the mess hall, and remember that there were other things, looks around for another map.

 

They glance around nervously.
"Please no random pick."

Just the vault and the old machines.

 

The Shadow takes a hit, and seems mostly dead for a moment, before he bursts back with twice as much power than before, breaking out of the execution room and smacking Virei'tus hard, grabbing one of the forest guardians with another hand and draining their power to fuel himself, throwing them aside. The forest guardian just lays on the floor, limp, her eyes almost lifeless.

There's a massive strain on Nyx's forcefield as the Shadow tries to break through while fighting off guards and smacking Virei'tus again.

 

"I won't, that's cruel. If no one at all wants to go, I'll go myself."

Crystal looks for directions to the library.

 

He can't even get Virei'tus to budge, Nyx slowly becoming twisted as she struggles to maintain the forcefield.

Virei'tus shields the forest guardian and forms a barrier around the shadow.

Sapphire busts into the throne room with a modified pulse rifle, winded.
"P-permission to shoot the prisoner?" She asks.

They pause.
"What if you fail...?"

He doesn't need directions. He's memorized the way to the library by now, and it's never that hard to get to.

 

"No need. Eve has been deployed." I say, though sounding annoyed.


The Shadow lets out a demonic roar as his size doubles once more, increasing the strength on crushing Nyx.

Eve rolls behind cover nearby, unleashing a hailstorm of energy bolts directly targeted at the Shadow from behind cover. The Shadow's wounds seem to heal as fast as they're created, and the Shadow seems to absorb the energy in every bolt.

"DIE DIE DIE!" The Shadow roars, his voice even more demonic as he smashes Nyx against the walls, floor and ceiling to try and break her forcefield.

 

"One shot." Sapphire pleads.

Nyx suddenly just phases through the shadow's grasp.
"Bitch, you wish." She taunts, starting to use glyphs meant to try and tame the berserk shadow."

 

The Shadow spews darkness over Nyx, completely blacking out her vision and meddling with her mind and co-ordination, before she gets slammed by something hard onto something else hard; presumably the floor.

Eve manages to take an arm off the Shadow, the Shadow taking longer to regenerate it than normal.


"I don't like the use of those weapons, especially in my realm." I say sternly.

 

Nyx lets herself be splattered against the floor, reforming as a poison blob still holding her mother's scimitar.
"You wanna rumble? Let's rumble, wannabe murderer." She cackles.

"It's... oh, right. How do I put this... I wanted to shoot an energy void at it, but I couldn't find anything that could avoid being deactivated by it. It shoots Tirai's Negasphere, and I want to just steal the shadow's energy."

 

"Then I'll have the chance to see my dead corpse when I go in again."
I say, clearly not joking.

He gets there, and tries to find the only book he'd started reading in there.
