It provides him with a tragic backstory, and gives me an excuse to have y'all do some plane jumping eventually

Also the necklace is not all knowing, but it's not equal to the wearer either.

It only knows as much as the wearer knows, but it can calculate that information must better than the wearer can.

 

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't understand anything (I didn't understand some words combination :()

Basically:

Necklace is smart but not all-knowing

Ti Lin needed an item for his backstory

I needed an item to force you guys to do a thing later

 

The 3rd sentence is probably related to me.
The 2nd one is maybe related to me too, or to Lilith.
The 1st one is related to Dao I think. XD
