Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Onyx looks around for anything eyecatching, curious.

 

"Alright, that answers my question. Thank you." I say, turning back and walking to the village.

 

"Alright, thanks."
I nod, then head back to the portal room.

Crystal continues to watch, interested.

 

There seems to be one citizen standing near the village center, holding a potted plant.

Eklir follows you.
"Okay, how does she not step on you?"

Announcers set up a booth and do a quick mic test.
"This working? Can everyone hear us?"
Audience cheers.
"Alright. We're starting the high jump competition in a few minutes! One athlete is injured and we are currently making sure their injury will not have serious long-term effects."

The pair seems to enter the bunk room, the dagger user putting his daggers in a case with a few throwing weapons - shurikens, kunai, and darts. The archer climbs up on the top bunk, laying down.
"You taking a nap now?" The archer asks.
"No, I think I'll try to bring the kitty home."
"Why not let her explore?"
"Judging by her scents, she has been."

 

Onyx meows defiantly, wanting to explore more.

 

"By looking."
I respond, continuing to walk.

"What happened?"
Crystal calls, mostly caring about getting the information.

 

The dagger user sets her on the ground.
"Go ahead, then." They say, laying down on their bunk.

Eklir keeps following you.
"I take it that really it was her stuff you used to give Aral'hrah armor?"

The rest of the audience seems to also be curious, backing up Crystal's calls.
"Someone messed with the crash pad, it didn't have enough filling. We've made sure that this one is padded enough and doesn't have a tear that would allow the filling to come out." The announcers say. "We have yet to figure out who tampered with it, but we asked security to check their cameras to see if they saw anything. Their report will be pinned outside their offices once they finish it, however long that may be."

 

Onyx heads out of the bunk rooms, looking to explore some more.

 

There's a few draconians in lab coats going in and out of a side door, and it seems that Xlentia left the door open to the gardens.

 

Onyx sneaks into the side door, curious.

 

"It might've not been specifically hers, but it was under the general realm of things she owns, so yes."
I admit.

"Oh, wow."
Crystal says to Linoa.
"That must've hurt."

 

Inside is a lab with tons of equipment, odd machinery, and chemicals galore. Considering literally everything has a warning label on it, and there's a "FATAL" list naming nearly everything the scientists are working with, messing with them is probably a bad idea.

"Why'd she let you get the things, then?"

"It hurts a lot. Think of it like losing control of your foot, and not being able to use it for the next month."

 

Onyx, scared, runs out of the laboratory and out to the gardens.

 

Outside is fairly empty. Two forest guardians, a few sage draconians, and Sivius watering the plants is about all that's out there.

 

Onyx decides to walk over to Sivius, watching him from a slight distance.

 

"She didn't. Some people that worked for her did."

Crystal thinks for a moment.
"Well, I'd just make a new one, but I don't think humans can do that, huh."

 

Sivius seems to just be killing time, glancing at Onyx.
"Palace cat? Wrong palace."

"And how did she feel about that?"

"I mean if, in your case, you couldn't make a new one. If you couldn't shapeshift that foot, and just had to live with a foot that didn't work for a month."

 

"Don't know, but as people that worked for her were fine with it, I don't think she'd be peeved about it. And if she was, I'd apologize and make it up to her."


"That would suck, but couldn't I still lean on it?"

 

Onyx meows, before walking over to Sivius and rubbing up against him.

 

I approach the citizen.
"So, what exactly are you doing?"
