dont use whitecap crown % is better for mage use something like cumulonimbus

 

Start building on your health, Try and get boreal platterned instead of aquarius, because aquarius is overkill imo,

Get a helmet like stardust with a lot of health and defense etc

get diamond hydro items,

Gold and silver makes me cringe,

Use concentrations without spell OR moon pool rings from hive to make up for the mana regen you lose from not using

aquarius,

Try and get a lament

decent health meh defense and probably an ass ton of damage/mana regen

Whitecap is better,

You can use more rainbowy items like nebulous also

It has 20% water damage, like 700 more health, and the raw spell is actually pretty good,

Its not the best helmet for comboing with water sanctuary but whitecap haters annoy me because its actually very good

 

and cumu has 33% spell damage and besides % is still better then raw and

whitecap is great for assassin/archer (if your going arrow storm damage)

 

Actually mage is arguably one of the best cases for raw damage.

First and foremost it has Bonder, which grants a lot of mana (which raw spell builds lack good amounts of if they use Gaea-Hewn Boots and Whitecap Crown) in addition to raw regen, which allows you to easily wear Summa without the -regen repercussions, further alleviating mana costs and helping gain positive defs.

Secondly, Raw Spell is affected by Spell Multiplier. Mage's high spell multiplier on Meteor allows it to deal a whole lot of damage, because 400%/500% * 1200ish= 4800/6000 that penetrates armor unless Agil activates plus whatever dmg your weapon already does with meteor.

You don't have to use raw spell on mage, but its actually very good.

 

We really need a thread to confirm "once and for all" that this is how raw spell works... There are still so many people who don't get how it works.

 

Is that why jaydonthewarrior uses raw spell in his lv 21 assassin that deals several thousands of dmg?

 

well my meteor spell damage (water) is at 10k minimum

 

Your damage is higher, but it lacks the ability to penetrate armor and your build is also much too glass by comparison.
