Media [poll] So, Minecraft's Versions And Wynncraft

So here's a question: What update(s) would you prefer Wynncraft to adopt as it's only (as of now) supported verion? I ask this since we currently have a thing where the multi-version support is causing issues with boats and horses to many/some.

In discussion, let's keep this as reasonable as we can, as to not start a flame war against each other.

If this is needing to be relocated to a differnt forum, let me know

 

Whichever one fixes the most bugs.

 

Anything 1.9 or higher so that we could have legit 3D armor skins.

 

In the end, the most recent version would perhaps be the healthiest, no matter how long that takes.

Moving the minimum version from 1.8 to say, 1.10, would be a little odd considering we'll still be a couple versions behind.

and I can't forget to mention the smorgasbord of features in the newer versions the CT would be able to utilize.

And before you say "1.9 pvp suxx!!!" the PvP in the newer versions will change nothing in Wynncraft because our combat is so different from vanilla PvP, hell, maybe it'll even improve it because of the ability to customize the attack speeds in 1.9+ PvP for Wynn.

 

1,8,9 is not in the options which is triggering me hardcore,







aside from that, I play in 1,8,9 because I've never had any problems with it

 

I can't do 1.9 cause I play PvP stuff and am very used to 1.8, but yea, for wynn, as already was said above, I'd like to have the one that fixes the biggest possible amount of glitches/bugs

In all truth tho, I'd prefer it to be kept on 1.8.9

saying switch to X version is easy, unlike actually doing it. It is preety hard to update ur code for a new version especially when its the size of wynn. Like i would rate wynn bout 100k lines of code and trust me, thats takes for fu#*%g ever to update to a new version. Its like a hole that u try to get out of while digging it under uself, the more stuff they add for people the more there is to fix&update, also saying older version are better/funner is very wrong, since there's clearly a reason why the new versions were created that isnt features, skipping the fact that updating to new versions sometimes makes coding easier by addding some stuff like for example 1.12 is adding "@s" which is revolutionary in for example commandblocks, but it can also take some features away just like some newer java versions.

 

Well, the 1.8->1.9 upgrade seems pretty hard to do with all the little changes they did, but 1.9->1.10 is surprisingly very easy since pretty much nothing changed in this update. However, 1.11 changed all the intern names for the mobs (VillagerGolem became villager_golem for example)
1.12 also changes some stuff, first off it's using java 8 instead of the older java and I believe they changed stuff to allow the recipe book

 

all these god damn building blocks from updated versions that wynncraft cant use because people cry at the idea of an updated wynncraft server even though it wouldnt change anything other than bug fixes

 

It's the inconvenience of either swapping Minecraft versions for other servers, or having to play PvP using 1.9 on multi-version support servers (like Hypixel and Mineplex).

 

All my mods are in 1.8 forge and I hate curse so I would rather like 1.8-X

Well, if they have multi-version support, I think ditching one isn't that hard to go to 1.9. But then again i'm not that aware of code and whatnot sooo

1.8 is out of question, the crate weapon skins need 1.9 to work. we need at lest 1.9
