Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Onyx darts out of the way, jumping up on counters and looking for the fish, ignoring any messes she makes.

 

She quickly scalds her feet, her first jump turning out to be straight onto a griddle.
"HEY! STAY OFF THE COUNTERS!" The chefs yell in unison.

 

Onyx, pained, quickly jumps around, causing a mess as she looks for ice or even just water to cool her feet in.

 

"You wanna fly?"
I ask maliciously, loud enough for the guards to here.
"Fine then."
I smirk, looking back towards the guard.
"You guys mind if I take this one?"
I ask them.

Crystal continues to watch, expectant of number ten.

 

She doesn't have to look far, seeing as she's frozen solid before she gets off the griddle, being relocated to the mess hall as the door to the kitchen is sealed as her ice cube melts.

They glance around.
"Uhm... we'd have to ask the supervisor..."
"Take the damn thing."
"Screw protocol, just make sure it never gets back."

There seem to be three more sets, number 10 eventually gathering with the other three winners, numbers 18, 33, and 45.
They all gather, number 10 first to throw as the crowd starts holding their breath during the run-up, cheers erupting as the javelin sticks.

 

Onyx looks around for any waiters or menus, or bascially any way to order food.

 

It seems that there's a big cafeteria-style line that goes up to a serving counter.

 

"I will."
I say, turning back to Eklir, and grabbing him by the arms, lifting him up.
"Ready? Too bad."
I say, flying up high into the sky, and far away from the castle.

Crystal smiles, and almost cheers, but doesn't quite.

 

Onyx joins the line, smelling the air.

 

She manages to avoid being narrowly stepped on by chimera, but that's about it.
It still smells strong, albeit less like fish.

"Wh-AT THE HELLLLLL"

Linoa smiles.
"Nothing wrong with rooting for someone." She says, 18 walking up to the strip.

 

Onyx hisses at anyone who comes close to stepping on her.

When it's Onyx's turn for food, she jumps up onto the counter and surveys what's on offer, mainly looking for fish, but settling with meats too.

 

There's too much to see to be sure.
"Look, cat, if we give you a fish will you get the hell out?" One of the frustrated chefs ask.

 

I fly less up and more away from the castle, not saying anything.

"I guess, but..."
Crystal starts, but doesn't finish.

 

Onyx seems offended, her mood turning sadder, but she nods.

 

A platter is telekinetically moved to a vacant spot on the table, three different fish on it.
"Don't cause any more trouble." The chef grunts. "NEXT!"

Eklir seems to go limp after a while.

"But... what?" Linoa asks, 18 narrowly beating 10's throw.

 

Onyx runs over to the fish, starting to eat them.

 

To make a sort of show to anyone who watching from a ways away, I start getting towards the ground, only, once I get low enough, I steady my landing, and look around.

"I guess I just haven't screamed in a while. Feels like it's gonna be weird."
Crystal says, disappointed.

 

Nobody stops her, except for what seems to be a catfolk variant that nervously sits near her.

You're in a blood-soaked area in Akli'il territory.
Eklir seems to slowly be breathing more consistently again.

"Better scream in joy than pain." Linoa says.

 

Onyx looks up happily, cutting one of her fish in half with a claw and nudging a half toward the catfolk.

 

"Hey."
I start saying, putting his feet on the ground.
"Mind telling me how you managed to get there?"

"Good point."
Crystal agrees, smiling, and re-paying attention to the contest.
