This definitely is totally unique and different from every grimtrap build and was totally worth posting for sure yep.

Seeing as it was the first melee grimtrap, and the first public melee build to use centipede/CoI while maintaining positive element defenses, good mobility, and actually functioning as a tanky melee build with good mobility, yes it was.

Making a claim with no evidence helps nobody. Could you give some elaboration and proof to support your claim?

 

there's also been a ton of alka and apoc melee builds using centi/coi
but then again, your ego is bigger than the entire universe so ill just let you "claim the melee meta"

 

Allow me to address your concerns;
Your point is that there are plenty of other melee builds that utilize the synergy present between centipede and Chestplate of Ineptitude. I am not denying this, that would be denying a fact. I am also not trying to take credit for discovering this synergy.

My main point is that none of the previous melee builds managed to maintain tankiness, good mobility, AND damage. I'm looking at yours here as well.
Your build had about 8k hp, did less damage than mine, and had shit defenses and mobility. In other words, it was a glass cannon, on a melee build. Which as SilverMirror knows, should never happen. The same holds true of Alka melee builds, such as this one which was commonly used:
Centipede
CoI
Earth Sanc
Clock boots/Heartbreak
The defenses and mobility of said builds all sucked, the only thing good about it was its damage. And even then, most every experience build maker in Wynn knows that damage is not the most important factor in a good build.

So, having successfully dismissed your claims, anything else you would like to add?

This statement serves no purpose other than a rather petty attempt to elicit an angry response from me.


EDIT: Once again, recall that this discussion is within the scope of Pre-Corkus. No corkus items existed in the creation of both of our builds.

my build has 10k hp, yours has about 9k hp

of course, i was not using a mythic and the dmg difference isnt huge

no negative water defense, decent fire and good earth, thunder and air defense
ok

my build has 40% ws, even more if you were using ws accessories
yours has 37% max

my build is arguably better since i have 100 def

it was post corkus though

I want to redirect this conversation back to my build, which is what the entire purpose of your statement was. We are not comparing builds here, if you want to do that, you should scroll back to page 2, where we already established that mine is better.

I want you to elaborate on this claim here, because you completely ignored my response to it;
I want you to elaborate further on how my build is bad, and is not one of the first actually good melee builds.

yours is better of course... i never said it was bad, it just said it was not the first at all and you're nowhere near claiming the melee meta, and that some other builds can do just about as much as yours

problem is, we can actually use your build with alka and earth sanc/centi/coi wasnt very popular from what ive seen, most people used a rainbow-ish centi/coi build just like yours
you'll have bad ws but you can use charge so

 

Ah, you're misunderstanding my entire point then.
I do believe it was the first good melee build, taking into account that we actually completed it a bit earlier than the skype logs show. We were just rehashing it as my assassin got lvl 100 at that time, also shown by my reply on your thread, hinting at a grimtrap melee.

Very soon after my build was created, others discovered the coi/centipede combo and went to town on full glass alka melee builds, saying that fucktons of dps with 8k hp and no ws is a good build.

I don't want credit for the synergy between Centi/CoI, that would have been discovered eventually anyways. What I want credit for is making a good build, and being one of the first to make a melee build that following the three basic principles: Mobility, Defenses, and Damage, and primarily one that excels at all three.

Basically, I worded my statement wrong. I don't want credit for every fucking build that uses centipede/coi, thats fucking stupid. I just want some credit for helping to make the meta a helluvalot better.

 

yes, but it wasn't the first, most good melee builds came out at the same time (late december-early january) so
thats what i meant since the begining, we just misunderstood each other

 

melee meta just got broke with burnout though. Ez.
And a lot of the melee builds that did come out weren't even good. yours could be made a lot better wh modification as well.

oh and btw, people already had melee alkas way before
Coi Electro Clock Then a helmet w/ good hp + health accessories
You could even use breezehands+statue

 

imo it was overnerfed, its unusable now

 

My melee apoc soloed qira in 15 seconds with it, even accounting for he nerf.

 

melee builds in general need a nerf, not just burnout

 

They need a rework, to where +tiering isn't the only way to make a good build.

 

Ya know the -250 water defense is still manageable.

Just put 3 t6 water powders on your Flameshot Melee in addition to the Prisms x2, Prowess, and Diamond Fusion Necklace that you were already using.
