Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Depends on if she's delivering the report or not. If she is, soon, if not, I don't know."

"Alright."

 

"If the report comes, will she still be busy?"

"So... back there?"

"I'm not messing around. I'm finding dissatisfactions and figuring what modifications I need to make myself to regain my former power faster." Alice retorts. "I feel a hell of a lot shittier than a shadow demigod."

 

"I'd be careful how you modify yourself. Remove too much, and your body can't take it. You'll go back to square one." The guard warns.

 

"Perhaps. I don't know what she's up to."

"Let's go."
Crystal smiles.

 

"This body is only mine because I gave up my chance at my life for Tenebrae's offer. I think she knows I will never truly come to terms with this. If I have to destroy my body to get back, so be it. I doubt you could stop me if it came down to it." She shrugs, heading inside. "At least, not yet. I may as well just stay in a box and never come out as long as I'm this weak."

"You don't keep in touch?"

Linoa again lets him get back on her staff first.

 

"I don't keep in touch with almost any of my associates. I know how to get to them if I need them, though."
I explain.

He does.

 

"Then how do you coordinate?"

Linoa hops on before making a beeline back for the arena.
"Hey, javelin throw! It's pretty basic, but you might like to watch it."

 

"We find each other. It's fairly easy to, for various reasons."

"Yeah, sure, let's watch! I've heard of this one before, my creator and I talked about it while we were on the subject of weapons."

 

"If they're as big as that goddess, then no wonder."

Linoa lands, hands the receptionist a few coins for two week passes and then heads off towards the track.

 

"Two of them can be. Or, almost, at least."

Crystal follows, excited.

 

"Oh boy..."

Linoa climbs up onto bleachers, several athletes doing practice runups to the throw line as Linoa grabs little pamphlets tucked under the bleacher seats.
"Looks like the track's busy all day."

 

"Well, how'd everyone else fare from the fight?"
I ask, changing the subject.

"With what?"

 

"One raptor loss from each tribe, and seven mantis losses."

"Javelin throw, sprint and relay races, hammer throw, long and high jump, and more."

 

"And the humans?"

"Can I see?"
Crystal asks, putting his hand out for the pamphlet.

 

"We let two survivors get back this time."

Linoa hands him the pamphlet.

 

"How many did you kill?"

Crystal takes a look at it.

 

"Fortyish."

Time slots are filled straight up to the 7:00 closing. Javelin throw now, followed by sprints and long jump, then high jump and hammer throw and ending with distance relays and hurdles.

 

"Good. They don't have infinite numbers."

"Let's stay around here for a while."
Crystal decides.

 

"They shouldn't."

"Anything in particular you're looking forward to out here?"

 

"I should look for Eklir."
I decide.

"Not really."
Crystal admits.
