Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You have a lot of servants. Some are bound to like the idea."

Things seem to be moving slowly as Allen steadily but slowly reads off how to reinforce the cliff walls from the tablets.

 

"Fire magic.... never seen a kitsune with fire magic, they usually just have water or electric magic."

 

The only explanation you can think of is that Anne's only half kitsune.

 

I grab the hog in the net and carry it to the cave where Anne is sleeping.
"Hmm, must've got tired. Well then, the hog is singed so a bit more fire and it should be ready to eat."

 

"Keeping Onyx happy is enough for me." I say, smiling.

"Onyx is so lovely, it's a shame she has to keep her identity so secret." Artemis comments.

 

I land, and see if I can force it open.

"Alright, I will."

 

Anne doesn't sleep for long.
"Did you get it to the fire?" She yawns.

"Well, why? You kept Ihra safe, so why can't you keep her safe at home?"

...nope. It feels like attempting to push a mountain.

Pause.
"Well, where to first?"

 

"We can, and we have been. I've made her a big room all to herself, containing all the things a cat, person and cat-person would want." I say happily.

"She's a source of comfort too. Her human side understands emotions, while her cat side wants to comfort you when you're stressed." Artemis says, smiling.

 

"She handled Ali well during... that."

 

"I don't think I ever want to go back there, unless it's to get some food from Ali's cafe. Every time I go there I just end up pissed off." I say, crossing my arms.

"Personally I think your idea to go relic hunting was a good one, Aj. It's been fun travelling with you on our new quest." Artemis says to me happily.

 

"You know, they gave you one more offer on the way out. The mayor said that the relic's yours if you repair the damages Abigail made and never go back. He was going to include that you could go to Ali's, but she said it would put her out of business." Alice shrugs.

 

"It's something." I say, shrugging.

"We should probably stop whatever evil is trying to secure these last two necklaces though. We can't just abandon our home world to go back to somewhere where we'll get stressed." Artemis says.

"Yeah. Who needs those guys, we have evil to fight." I say, looking ready to continue travelling.

 

"Ah you're up, the hog is ready to eat. Here." I pass the whole hog to Anne.
"Eat up you need some energy. And when you're done eating go back to sleep, I'll keep watch."

 

"I'm not saying go now. I'm just saying the offer's there." Alice shrugs. "So, now that you have a dog with you, do things."

"Don't you need to eat?" Anne asks, unsure.

 

"Don't worry about me. Kitsunes can go weeks without eating and still retain their energy. Since you are half kitsune you do need to eat."

 

"I guess Sgavrinn could make travelling a lot easier." Artemis says, looking over at Sgavrinn.

"Yeah, flight and such." I say.

 

Anne nods, tearing into the hog before falling asleep halfway to the cave with a food coma.

"Do they have dragon leashes to leave him outside the dungeons?" Alice asks, sarcastic.

 

"We could probably tie him up somewhere." I say, shrugging.

Artemis walks over to Sgavrinn.

"Hey, Sgavrinn, can Aj and I ride on your back?" Artemis asks kindly.

 

He nods, lowering his wing.
"Where are we going?" He asks, enthusiastic.

 

"We're going to search for dungeons and temples that contain powerful necklaces!" Artemis says happily, getting onto Sgavrinn's back and waving me over. I teleport over, getting on behind Artemis.
