Art Homestuck - Vriska Serket

As my previous profile picture hinted at with the lineart, I've decided to do a drawing of Vriska Serket. It came out a lot larger on paper than I expected, taking up an entire page of A4. Nonetheless, I (personally) think it's one of my best pieces yet. It took quite a bit longer to colour than I expected, all week, since I've had to deal with quite a bit of work recently.

Oh god, seeing how you improved that much in so little time actually gives me some inspiration as well!

I think the first time I drew Vriska was about back in October/November last year, and she was the second character I drew, and 7th drawing in total (So close...).
I also dug up that old drawing I did for you and Zahr for the Vriskat profile pictures.

You sure you didn't trace it?

 

Nope! The most I used to do was a while back when I'd create 'Join the dots' type marks to outline where I should draw if I got really stuck (I believe this was for Terezi and Latula's glasses), but I've never traced. I stopped doing the 'Join the dots' when I realised it wasn't doing me any favours in learning how to actually draw. In the case of this artwork, I just looked at my reference image and drew that.
