Sooo... The decay in Gavel, as we know from the quest taproot, was caused due to the parasite or worm thing or whatever that came out of the ground at the place between two rocks. Well, the Grimtrap lore, which I think may be new, I don't know, is this...

"Found at the site of the parasite's crossing between realms, this simple-looking glove is bathed in dark presence. It wracks those who wear it with pain, and instills the belief that the only way to end the pain is not to remove the item, but to inflict that same torment upon all others."

I believe this is referring to the parasite we see in Taproot. Now, based on the Quest "The Realm of Light" we also know that the R.O.L. is infested in some places by Succoru parasites, which spread darkness and corruption in the realm. I believe that the Grimtrap lore refers to this, which shows that the parasites in realm of light, which were able to get in due to the realm of light weakening, which in turn was due to the greed growing in gavel, were the creatures that caused the decay.

The parasits were most likely planted in the R.O.L. by some dark force. The realms are linked, the worm causes the decay... I don't even know what I'm saying anymore, it's late and I have a headache...

Honestly not even sure if this lore is new, I just saw it in some thread.

Personally I just want more weapon lore like this that can fit with actual events in the Wynn timeline

Wait, so would it be that one of the succoru parasites escaped the realm of light and infected Gavel? The parasites infecting R.O.L. were from a dark realm, weren't they?
Also considering the decay occurred 1000 years ago prior to the present that would mean the Heliolux have been dealing with this shit for centuries

I don't think so... Lero, the mage, wouldn't claim to have harnessed it in the wand, and then also say he perfectly harnessed it in the spear as well.. Sorry if none of that sentence was grammatical, I'm so tired it isn't even funny.

Who ever said Lero made Thrundacrack? He simply claims to have harnessed the sheer power of Thunder in the wand, and Thrunda's lore simply states that it harnesses Thunder and life-draining magic in combination to provide the truest power of Thunder.

 

Yes, this is what I'm saying. Sorry if what I said didn't make sense, as the title says, I'm very tired... I was arguing that it's unlikely Lero made both, because... I don't even know anymore. Regardless, thank you for the new items, hopefully I'll be able to piece things together... If something doesn't have proof, I don't stop trying to find answers.

Although, now that you've seen this thread and my disappointing ramblings, can you confirm whether or not Grimtrap's lore refers to the parasite creature we see in Taproot? Or which realm it crosses from?

Lol I don't even want to get into that, I just want to know the origin of the Sucorru parasites. Learning how the corruption or Orphion affects Gavel would be interesting as well though.

The corruption doesn't affect gavel
As far as we know orphion doesn't directly affect gavel
