Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Orchid smiles.
"Is Kuno awake yet?"

"No, but I saw they had an equivalent exchange table up at the door. I've already counted out how much I'd need in gold leaf."

 

"Yes, they are."

"Alright, good to know."

 

"Whew that was a surprisingly good sleep. Hmm look like the vixen hasn't woken up. Better get away before I disturb her."

 

"Did you see where they went off to?"
You can't find Kuno, either. He must've snuck off while you were talking with the raptors...

"They have a table for gold flake and the currencies of a couple other towns in this world. Two were crossed out, though, so they must've fell."

Talking to yourself seems to have been a bit of a mistake. As you depart, you find her following you after a few minutes.

She clearly doesn't know the powers of a kitsune, as she makes a futile attempt to hide behind a tree.

 

"Nope. I was talking with the raptors..."

"Wow... from what?"

 

"Huh. I'm going to go off and try to find him, if you don't mind." Orchid says, looking ready to run off.

"I don't know, but why else would they be crossed out?"

 

"I don't care. Just, don't bee off for too long."
I stand up.

Crystal thinks for a few moments.
"Good point."

 

"Cliffside. Do you have any military? If so, what does it comprise of?"

 

Sidus laughs, picking Kiin up and hugging her.

"You're a clever little girl, aren't you?" Sidus says happily.

 

I continue my way through the forest ignoring the vixen but the vixen continues following me through the forest.
I start speaking in a language that only other kitsunes and fox like creatures can understand.
"You know you really shouldn't be following me, I don't want you to get hurt. Go back to where you came from and stay there. It's better this way."

 

"Well, you slept in my den, and you're a kitsune far from home. So, I'm coming with you, whether you want me to or not." She protests.

Kiin hugs Sidus back, before suddenly seeming a bit hesitant.
"Where is stick?"

"We have a small town guard and a defensive pact with the dragons of the mountains."

She nods before scanning the ground and taking off into the distance.

"I mean, with any luck, they just are at war and not wanted here. But, at the rate of decline we've seen things go, the worst is slowly becoming the most likely." Linoa sighs.

 

"Very well. But don't expect this to be a short journey. And when we are done you will go back to your den and stop following me. Understood?"

 

"Thank you for your time." I say, closing my journal and bowing lightly before teleporting back to the village.

 

I don't follow her, and instead fly to Rath'haga.

"Well, someone's gotta know."

 

"Maybe." She insists, stepping out of hiding and starting to follow you.
She's a red fox with singed ears, and very obviously young.

The mayor nods as you leave.

Back at the village, nobody seems to have gotten the memo that you're in control for a week.

The guard seems to be on alert, though not because of you.

"I'll ask around a bit. Where's that spider...?"

 

I manipulate the air so that my voice travels to all edges of the village. "I, Dominus Terrae, will be ruling over you for an amount of time. I require everyone to meet me at the village center. Those who fail to comply will be under threat of either exile or hard labor." I say.
I then head to the village center.
(Isn't it three months?)

 

Yes.

A few people peek out at you, but everyone dismisses you. Nobody winds up heading towards the village center.

 

"Alright then, let's go. We don't want your parents to worry about you."
They start walking through the forest and eventually exit to see a large river that has ferocious currents.
"I hope you can swim." I say smiling

 

"You're heading south. This is southeast!" They complain.

 

"Stick?" Sidus asks, a little confused.

"Oh, that staff Xephyr gave us!" Aquira says, quickly diving into the water. A short while later, Aquira returns with the staff, offering it to Kiin.
