Official Event The Great Item Naming Contest 2: Electromagic Boogaloo

Hey everyone, Selvut283 here. Oh, did you all think I'd forgotten?

It sure has been awhile since the last item-naming contest; nearly six months! But, now that Corkus is out and everything isn't spontaneously combusting on such a regular basis anymore, I'm finally ready to open up the next contest! For those of you who need context, there used to be an Item names thread awhile back, and there were some really cool and creative names in there. This is your chance for those items to get some legitimacy, and use your creative skills to have those items actually get to go in game!



Now for the boring part; rules. Don't skip by them, though!

1) You can submit three names per contest! If you submit more than three on your post, only your first three will be taken into consideration. In addition, only one of your names will be chosen per contest if you win!
2) Don't spam your submissions over multiple posts. Put them all on one post.
3) Super unrelated posts or repeat posts will be generally get deleted and may lead to a thread ban.
4) Items have to be reasonably named. Naming something like "XxXxsupahminceraftdoodxXxX's Cool Wand" isn't gonna fly. Neither is anything super inappropriate. No "Not-A-Dildo"s here, folks. Admittedly, some items have pretty silly names like Overly Ironed Pants, so those are perfectly fine to have, but also no huge references like "Waluigi's Overalls".
5) You can specify if something is a weapon, armour piece, or accessory, but nothing more specific! Note that this specification is optional, you haven't GOT to specify if you've just got a really cool general name.
6) I'm choosing what items the names get applied to, so items like "Totally Radical Hat", "Utterly Tubular Spear" or "Pretty Gnarly Ring" will be rejected. A name has to be able to be applied to at least three item types. For example, if a weapon name can only reasonably apply to a Bow, it'll have no chance, but if it could feasibly be a Wand, Dagger, or Bow's name, you're good! You only have to ensure that it can apply to two kinds of accessories since there's less of those.
7) Don't give your item any stats; you're only submitting a name! No tiers, no lores, nothing! ONLY the names!
8) You may not make set items! Since you're only giving the name for a single item, don't make a submission like "Far Out Set".
9) Other Game Masters may not participate; they can just make items on their own. Other staff members like builders, cmd blockers, or moderators may contribute, though.


If you break any of these rules too grievously, you'll be banned from the contest via thread ban, until the next one.

If you mess up on an item accidentally, for instance, you think of an item name we've already used, you can just edit your post and it'll be checked over again.



Let's please not blow it this time. The last contest had a lot of people ignore the rules and give a huge list of items, or try to give their items tiers and stats and lores. This is not allowed. And a lot of people are doing it this time too. If you haven't read the rules, scroll right back up and read them, buster!

After a certain amount of time has passed, I'll close submissions and cherry-pick the best names! If I can't decide between a few, it'll go to a private vote among the content team. All of the winners will get a Community Event Winner tag, but depending on how much I like it, you'll be awarded either a third place, second place, or first place prize as well! And heeeeere's your lovely prizes!


1st Place: Your name is used for an item in an upcoming update! You get to work with me to create the item in question! You get to choose what kind of item it'll be, as well its stats!(Restrictions: No Mythics, subject to item balancing and general scrutiny) You'll also win 15 LE, and a free copy of the item once it goes ingame!
One person can win this juicy prize!

2nd Place: Your name is used for an item in an upcoming update! You get to pick specifically what kind of item it will be!(Restrictions: No tier/stat specification) You'll also win 10 LE, and a free copy of the item once it goes ingame!
Three lucky folks can win this prize!

3rd Place: Your name is used for an item in an upcoming update! You'll also win 5 LE, and a free copy of the item once it goes ingame!
Five creative people can win this prize!




This contest will stay open for two weeks, ending on May 6th, 5:00 PM EST!
