I am sure people are aware of this thread
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/lets-make-corkus-city-the-new-trade-hub.182176/
and I think that I and some people have been disagreeing on make corkus city the trade hub city
welp a series of jokes threads has been locked, this is going to be a serious discussion as of whether Detlas or Corkus City should be better being a trade hub.
Neither Detlas or Corkus City is perfect for being a trade hub. I will try covering the pros and cons of the 2 cities.

    1. Level Range
    • Corkus City is meant to be accessed with level 83 quest The Envoy Part I
    • Detlas can be accessed with all levels
One difference about those 2 cities is the level range. Despite being in a higher level cities equals less annoying noobs, that can also leads to a problem that the limitation of level range of the items. Since there are less low levels in Corkus City, you are less likely to be able purchased lower level items since everyone is mostly selling high level items. That also would mean the market is going to be less friendly to new players at low levels that are trying to sell their items in Detlas since it's the only place they can get access to. I can only see the advantage of being a high level based city is to 'doge some annoying noobs'.

And to all new player, this is going to be the
    upload_2017-4-18_4-30-34.png
and they shall start doing trades with other players in Detlas, you will not know one day maybe a noob is selling a concentration or a Rarity that you may need. Are we sure that we are going to abandon the low level traders that is trading in Detlas?

    2. Location
    • Corkus City is located at the west of the ocean, located on the edge of the map
    • Detlas is centered at the Province of Wynn
The location is one of the issue of Corkus City, in spite of that Corkus City provides quick travel to Selchar and Kandon-Beta. It seems that C.S.S. is actually right 'outside' Corkus City by the dock, you'll have to travel at least 250 blocks to get to the ship that takes you to Selchar. But here comes the question, what would you do traveling to the middle of the ocean while you should have all your ocean quests finished by lv 81?

And about Kandon-Beta, again, the reason that you would travel to Kandon-Beta should mostly be because of the quests nearby or doing a lootrun. It may be somehow useful but compare that to the time that you would use Detlas-Cinfras Airship. Quick travelling to Cinfras should be more preferrable since Cinfras is a mid-way City for leveling in Gavel, and the airship is also one of the closet location to qira and thanos. I would see more use of airship instead of Hot-air ballon even though airship when you progress to higher level.

While we look at Detlas, it's inevitably much convenient to transfer bank class to Detlas instead of Corkus City, While people say transferring item through enderchest is a possibility (you can have bank class in Detlas, then have your main in Corkus City for trading). But it rises a problem that sometimes you main class can be in the wild/idling in a boss room or grind spot so you would only have your bank class in the 'trade hub'. It should always be better to have your bank class in the 'trade hub' that can be easily accessed to physically.

    3. Layout of the City
    • Corkus City has easily accessed merchant and powder exchange
    • Detlas has more block to jump around with
In this section, we are going to need the assistance of some pictures.
    upload_2017-4-18_4-33-4.png
    Let's first focus on Detlas
one pro on Detlas is that people are chilling right outside the bank with stuff to jump on, but not some hardcore parkour
And there are tent to hop around with, Roof that you can climb onto relatively easily.
As you are standing right outside the bank, that means it's easier to access the bank for the items for trading.

When we look into Corkus City, the place inside red circle is where people are chilling in, relatively flat, the roof are relatively harder to be accessed onto, and and gardens are decorated with cobblestone wall where you cannot normally jump onto, the bank is relatively far from the centre of where everyone is. I raise a question here, do you want the bank to be in front of you or do you want a shorter distance between LE merchant and the enderchests? It's only Powder Exchange in Corkus City being superior than Detlas. I suggest that leaving at least 1 class in Corkus City for the powder exchange since it's actually useful.

    4. Dueling
    • Corkus City has limited dueling space
    • Detlas has an open area where you can be dueling freely
When it comes to trade hub, people don't only 'TRADE' , it's sometimes fun to have dueling battling against other players, which dueling requires an actual 'arena'.

When we look at Corkus City, the centre of the city is quite flat but radius of the arena is small and you will easily collide onto structures with movement spells.
Not to mention there are going to be other players standing in between of the fights which makes the duel confusing, players and pets are also gonna interfere with arrows from archers which makes the centre of Corkus a bad dueling arena. I've been going around Corkus City seeking for dueling arena and I cannot find any place that has no high mobs that can strongly interfere the duel.

But back in Detlas, we have the famous 'outside' spot, the spot that is right outside Nesaak Gate, it should be the best dueling spot without me explaining it too much, low spawnrate of only low level mobs and a huge area of flat ground. It allows dueling to be way smoother.

    Conclusion
Corkus City may be good, we'll see, but I will retain my opinion on Detlas being better, splitting up 2 groups of people to Corkus City and Detlas means you will have less chance of getting your items bought or sold. Detlas has been a successful trade hub for years and I don't see why we are abandoning this trade hub, and all the low levels that are doing trades there. Takes your consideration, make a vote, which should be our final trade hub? I will be sitting in Detlas, I will await those who also wanted Detlas to the the trade hub to trade with me there. But I will certainly be leaving a class in Corkus City because of the great powder exchange, see you in whatever city you've picked!

Thanks for reading all 1000 words of the my opinions. Jacky's Out

While I'd love to see a change, Detlas is too iconic. In my opinion it is easily the most accessible trading city in the world of Wynncraft, while Corkus can only be accessed through relatively expensive teleportation scrolls, Selchar, and Kandon Beda, if you're not looking to travel in the ocean. We've seen this before with Cinfras and everyone just crawls back to Detlas. Who can blame them?

    tl;dr...

accessibility is one of the merit of Detlas being trading hub, it has some necessities for trading not like ragni the the way that it's centered in Wynn, it makes Detlas a better trading hub

    1. Level Range
    • Both can be accessed at all levels, and any newbie that uses the forums and knows prices can easily find that Corkus is the new trade hub. I have seen several lvl 40s where that was their highest level class in Corkus, and it truly does weed out the noobs.

    2. Location
    • Corkus City is located at the midpoint of Gavel, Wynn, and Fruma (coming soon™ to a wynn near you). It will inevitably have a LOT of traffic once fruma comes out.
    • Detlas is centered at the Province of Wynn

    3. Layout of the City
    • Corkus City has easily accessed merchant and powder exchange and more stuff to jump around on
    • Detlas has more block to jump around with
In Corkus, I have already mapped out about 5 idle parkour routes. If you want, I can share them.

    4. Dueling
    • Corkus City has more variance in terrain
    • Detlas has an open area where 2/4 classes are literally handicapped

    Conclusion
    Corkus City is better.

several of low levels is kinda an expection, several doesnt refer to the entire picture, there are low levels that are still hanging around in Detlas and thinking that Corkus is nowhere close to their level.I am sure majority of them doesnt know the way to get into Corkus City and it won't fit their level direction where you should be going through low level areas before you reach a high level one.
I am pretty sure that is not how you should be looking into it, you should also consider that fact that detlas has a airship quick travelling to Cinfras which is centered at Gavel, we can assume that Detlas is also is the middle of Gavel, we have no idea as if there will be any quick travel added prior to Fruma, but for now, I will take Detlas being the best location
I personally only agree that Corkus City is better just because of the powder exchange, the roof is made to be too high for parkour to be possible, what I am seeing is 90% of the players are hanging on a flat piece of land instead of hopping onto something
variance in terrain but filled with hostile mobs that deals decent damage to a player, I don't see the variance in terrain outweighing the hostile mobs that deal tons of dmg
about how the classes are being handicapped, I think it's not a good idea to discussed whether it actually is going to be handicapped or not, that's more about dueling and PVP mechanic, but without an opened area, there is basically no-show for any movement tricks that you can do

Then tell them how to get to corkus. I can even upload a tutorial if need be.

You make it a matter of opinion by saying "I will take detlas being the best". Sorry, but thats your opinion, not something that contributes to a debate.

Me jumping around corkus is coming soon™

If the mobs do damage to you, the center of corkus remains a perfectly viable dueling place. There is plenty of vertical space, and warriors and assassins can somewhat handle the semi-close combat.

Like I have previously said on Oranges thread; In the end it depends on the player. If he/she wants to go to corkus then by all means go ahead. If a player wants to stay in Detlas then that is A-OK too. Can't force people to just move like that.

Also, I think we had this same thing happen last time with Cinfras being the main place. Sure it was crowded the first week gavel was released but then after a while people came back to Detlas. So..Like I said, depends on the players option on if they want to move or not. To me it looks as though after a while people will head back to Detlas but idk maybe something might change? Who knows.
