Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I nod in agreement and ask around the village as to how to find their leader.

 

It takes about a minute before you reach the bunk room.

Nobody in the village except for one voodoo mage, robe covered in bones and blood, silently points you to the flooded marsh that the village is built around.

 

"Thank you." I say, and head over to the flooded marsh.

I land, making sure it's a soft landing, then release my hands and kneel on one knee.
"We have arrived."

 

There seems to be a rotting head laying in the marsh, the water thick with blood.

They drop off, looking around.
"Uhm... there aren't humans here, are there? Because I hate doors... and humans."

 

I pick up the head and examine it.

 

It's a mostly preserved hydra head, expression of pain and anger petrified by the marsh.

"I would rather you put that down, trespasser..." A voice hisses.

 

"There probably isn't. And, why doors?"
I ask, leading to walk into the bunk room.

 

I put down the head.
"Greetings. I assume you are the leader of the nearby village?" I ask.

 

"Because doors imply humans. At least, they used to."

"Answer me." They snap.

 

"You have asked no question. What am I to answer?" I reply.

 

"Why you're here, of course. You're acting like you've never heard of me before..."

 

"Why, I've only heard of you quite recently. You see I'm a traveler from a far-off land. As to why I'm here, I wish to know whether you are the leader of the village."

 

"The crops should tend to themselves. The crystals above them will water them for you, and the soil acts as a fetiliser for bigger, better crops," Shadow Stephanie says, "I'll send someone anyway just to help show you how to harvest them properly, though."

Shadow Stephanie takes the seeds, smiling.

 

"Around here, doors imply creatures that can make doors. So relax a bit with the doors, and let's go."
I say, picking up the pace to the bunk room.

 

"I am. That doesn't change the fact you are trespassing."

"Thanks..." She says, going to her room and falling asleep instantly.

...It would probably be appreciated if Shadow Stephanie flipped the sign on Ali's desk to 'CLOSED' for now...

"There are things other than humans who can use doors?" They ask, catching up.

 

Shadow Stephanie does so before she leaves quietly, taking Onyx with her.

 

Just as she's about to leave, another Anubis taps Shadow Stephanie on the shoulder, nervous.

 

"Hm?" Shadow Stephanie asks, turning around.

 

"Any being with fingers can use doors. There isn't only one kind, either. Some doors only require a push."
I explain.
