Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ali turns around, seeing if Shadow Stephanie followed as she checks to see if the door's still working.

"Few? You can fit a lot more than a few in this place..."

 

"In this hallway alone you could fit more than millions. Her chambers, though..."
I say, not finishing.

 

"Her? You mean, another Matriarch?"

 

"No, I'm just not saying her name. She is the leader here, though."

 

"She must be a titan, at this scale of things..."

 

"Why do you think these halls are so big?"

 

Shadow Stephanie seems to be close behind, as is Onyx.

The door still works, luckily. It appears to have been strengthened, though not much has changed.

 

"Millions of followers? High traffic?"

Ali, tearing up, hugs Shadow Stephanie.
"I... T-thank you..." She says, still shaky.

 

"No. Her. Built for her."

 

"You haven't even seen the kitchen or the new room yet." Shadow Stephanie says happily, hugging back.

 

"Holy shit..." They utter, freezing up.
"H-how does she not step on you?"

"R-right..." Ali says, checking the kitchen and looking around for the new room.

 

"By looking."
I say, stopping as well.
"Come on, now, these halls are as long as they are big."

 

"I... can't cover that much distance." They sigh, winded.

 

The kitchen seems to be redone too, keeping most of its original shape, but the counter seems to be entirely new, as well as sets of cupboards on the wall, and vines with the familiar sandstone figures. One of the figures seems to be on the kitchen counter, wearing a chef's clothing and holding up a knife with a happy expression.

There seems to be a door in the kitchen that wasn't there before.

 

Curious, Ali heads straight to it and cracks it open.

 

"Want me to fly us?"
I offer.

 

They hesitate.
"I... guess that'd be the smartest thing for me." They say, coming closer to you.

 

"Get onto my back, hold onto my shoulders, and try not to dig too deep."
I say, turning and taking a knee.

 

It opens into a massive room, plants on either side in boxes of soil. It seems to be split between fruits and vegetables, the crops Ali already had near to the door in abundance while other crops, such as carrots, potatoes, pears, oranges, cocoa beans, fennel and pumpkins seem to be further down. Blue crystals hang above the plants, Ali seeming to be just in time as they activate, watering all of the crops in the room before going dormant again.

 

They lightly grip onto you, nervous.
"Is that... tight enough? It's hard to grip round metal..."

"W-whoa... a-a-and all in the... oh my g-god..."
Ali hugs Shadow Stephanie again, tighter.
