"You seem to be nothing special. Yet, you're stronger than a normal shadow. So... the results are conclusive but not satisfactory."

"Can I have the crystal now?" The elite asks.

 

"Hm."
I nod, taking note.
"What's that tome about, if you don't mind me asking?"

 

"No, because you have not produced acceptable results. There is one more test, I hope..." They say.
"Back to a shadow crystal, please."

"Well... it's kind of the workbook. That I never used."

 

"I guess explore would be fine enough."

 

The elite does as turn, returning to crystal form.

 

"Feel free to look on your own. You don't serve me, even though you're a lower god."

"Ready?" The creature asks, picking up the shadow crystal and putting it away from the machines.

 

"You guys keep your books in the stronghold?"

 

"Scholar's library is in there. Textbooks are expensive and therefore valuable."

 

The elite can't communicate in crystal form.

 

A pulse of light with equal strength of those used by the elite initially strikes the crystal.

 

"Ah, okay. The farmer I talked to apparently didn't know if there was a library here."

 

"Alright. I take it you're recommending everything then."

 

"Farmers don't know how to do anything but farm and bitch harder than a teenager." She says spitefully.

 

The crystal seems unaffected.

 

"Why not? We have time, so make the most of it!" She says happily.

"Okay, out. Get out."

 

The elite reforms.

"Can I have the crystal yet?" The elite asks.

 

"What bad experience have you had with farmers?"

 

I nod in agreement and then bow slightly as a gesture and go back to the portal room.
