Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"This is the potential of shadows?" The creature asks, suddenly becoming hysterical. "Well, I-"

A blast of light fires out of the crystal and at the shadow.
"What the hell is it... GAH! I'M TRYING TO WORK, MASTER! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO WITH THE CRYSTAL?!" They scream, furious, though not at the shadow.

 

The light tears through the elite, leaving barely anything behind, yet once the light is gone, they reform in a matter of seconds.

The stealth elite gets up, checking to see if the magic in the crystal is still the same, and whether or not it has been copied.

 

"Yeah. Always good to know the location of a city."
I confirm with him.

 

There seems to be two, one trapped one that fired the light, and the crystal the elite cares about. It doesn't seem to be copied, but knowing what the Hive Master does with everything, it probably has been.
"I know you don't believe much I say, but I'm sorry about that... master's getting on my case for being the slowest out of my siblings."

"Alright. I'll see you at the portal. Good luck." Rineth says, flying out of the city.

 

Making sure no one's too close to burn, I fly out of the city as well, heading towards the portal as a point of reference.

 

It's a pretty easy flight, nothing else visible in the air other than you and Rineth.

 

"The magic in the crystal I desire, it hasn't been stolen for replication?" The elite asks, touching the crystal briefly to see what happens.

 

Making sure not to burn anything, I land near the portal, and look around.

 

The magic is still dormant, unawakened.
"Hell if I know. I'm stuck as the doorman!" The creature complains. "Now, since you're a shadow... I need part of your soul, not your body."

There's not much, though you can hear a raptor dart off from the brush.

A minute later, a familiar voice.
"That's one way to get back, mech."

 

The elite tries touching the crystal again, for a slightly longer period of time, seeming to get jolts of euphoria whenever she touches it. Her breathing becomes quicker, yet heavier, and her eyes widen.

 

"It's the less dangerous way."
I say, turning towards the voice.

 

The creature takes the crystal back.
"Hey, you keep trying to break out and there's going to be more light to wear you down."

It's the raptor from earlier.
"I suppose it is. So, since we seem to cross paths, we should trade names. You first, hard bargain."

 

"Thirteen."
I say, trusting him.
"You?"

 

"Aral'hrah. Chiefs are always named after their tribes."

 

The elite keeps an eye on the crystal, before grabbing the crystal that shot light.

 

The crystal detonates, filling the realm with immense amounts of light energy.
"H-hey! Why'd you do that?!"

 

"So we've got Aral'hrah, Akli'il, and Mantis."
I say, smiling.

 

"Akli'il is a tribe, but Mantis is a race. Of mantis. They're their own crazy thing."

 

"Huh. How's the armor serving you, by the way?"

 

The elite is disintergrated at first, but quickly forms in the light, managing to survive it.
