Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Good."
I say, stepping through.

"Yep!"

 

"Alright. Good luck." Rineth says, keeping an eye on you.

The dome activates, and Linoa stands there, cautious.

 

"Can you follow us stealthily? I don't exactly trust this lizard fellow."

Crystal forms a spear, cautious as well.

 

"I thought her sister was mind controlled." Shadow Stephanie says to me.

"Guards, find the memories of Ali recieving the slab, and Katie's homicide." I order.

The guards fiddle with the crystal helmet, searching for memories of what I asked.

 

Just a little further back, the entire scene is visible, though most of it is just a buried face, Ali starting to cry again.

"I can teleport." Rineth assures you.

Linoa keeps her distance, keeping a hawk's eye on Crystal's every move.

 

"Thanks."
I say, jetting off in search for the raptor.

Crystal watches Linoa as well, advancing.

 

"Alright, I have a few questions for her under the truth serum." I say.

The guards remove the helmet and screen, one of the guards bringing Ali a light grey potion.

"Please drink this." The guard asks.

 

"Stop attracting attention." They snap from some brush.

Linoa keeps the maximum distance between herself and Crystal, using her staff to stay airborne.
"Should we try ice and earth magic to make sure the null works first?" She asks.

Ali drinks the potion, nodding.

 

Shortly after drinking the potion, Ali feels as if she can only answer truthfully, lying impossible.

"Answer this next question with either a Yes or No only," the guard says after a short wait, "Will your answer to this question be No?"

 

I land, facing them.
"Got your armor."
I say, holding it up.
"Seven pounds."

"Sure, give it a shot."
He says, still focused.

 

Ali sighs, stumped. She opens her mouth, but nothing comes out.

"Toss it here."

Linoa throws a wall of ice at Crystal, but it melts once it gets in proximity of him.
"Ice works, and I tried teleporting. What else was there? Earth?"

 

The guard gives a thumbs up.

"What is your full name?" I ask.

 

"A-ta-ta."
I deny.
"You're forgetting something."

"Earth and barriers."
Crystal confirms.

 

"Ali Erlith." She responds, no hesitation and no signs of the potion signalling a lie.

"I said armor first, and you know that." They retort.

Nothing happens, and a barrier forms with a Crystal shaped hole in it.
"Check and check, works like a charm. How about you try shapeshifting and see if it still works?"

 

"Is your sister, whom you knocked out with a pot as seen in your memory, currently under the control of the hive master?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"I don't know." She responds. "She's been out cold, so I don't know if she's still been acting weird or not."
Again, the potion shows no signs of a lie.

 

"Well, your exact words were, 'Show me the armor, and I'll show you the kingdom.' And since I'm not an asshole, I'll give you the armor when we get there."
I say, holding the armor behind me again.
"Your words, not mine."

"Alright."
Crystal shifts into a wolf, then shifts back.

 

He growls.
"You got me there. However, if I get ambushed, I'm leaving them all to you unless you give me that armor. Clear?" He snaps.

"Uhm... stay as a wolf for a bit."

 

"Unfortunately, if she was under the control of the hive master, she will still be under his control. Knocking her out is not enough to free her. She will need to be close to death in order to be freed." Shadow Stephanie explains.

"Who exactly did you come here with? Name and relation, please." I ask.

 

"Clear. You lead the way."
I invite.

"Oh, sorry."
He says, shifting into a wolf again.
