"Should've expected that. Let's get going."
I say, walking back towards the portal.

 

"Could you show me that place? We may need it..."

Rineth clears the area before following you.
"Lab it is? Take a right and the second door on the left."

 

Onyx touches a black crystal attached to her collar, and a dark portal opens up in front of her.

"can you bring ali?" Onyx asks, worried.

 

"Alright."
I say, following his instructions.

 

"I want to see the place first."

You show up at the lab.
"Hello mister Thirteen, Rineth. How can I help you?"

 

Onyx steps through the portal, waiting for the Anubis to follow.

 

"I'm looking to make plate armor for a raptor."
I explain.

 

The Anubis follows, hesitant.

"A what?" The researcher asks, confused. "Why would a raptor need armor?"

 

"For protection."

 

"Why would a raptor need protection? It's a raptor..."

 

The portal seems to lead to the interior of the Shadow Palace, into a strange room almost designed for Onyx. Various scratching posts and mouse toys, among other things a cat would like, lie scattered around one half of the room, a bag of catnip not very well hidden. The other half of the room seems to be designed more to Onyx's human side, a bed, shelf with books and television all present. Onyx heads to a door at the end of the noticeably large room, a catflap on the bottom of it, which she opens. The door opens into a hallway which turns right at the end, though there appears to be an elevator at the wall.

Onyx heads toward the elevator, glancing behind her to make sure the Anubis is following.

 

The Anubis is having trouble seeing, but they're following Onyx.

 

"That can speak, hides in thorny bushes, and has rivals. And I need to give it to him for directions."

 

Onyx heads into the elevator, flipping through the book of codes before dialing in a code. Once Onyx dials four of the five dials, she checks to make sure the Anubis in the the elevator with her.

 

"That is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. You get any measurements?"

The Anubis is in the elevator, nervous.

 

I shrug.
"He said he wanted armor. And it's about a foot and a half around the waist and two and a half up around the chest. Arms are three inches down and nine long, and his neck neck about a foot wide. Also, no armored sleeves and it can't be too heavy. That's about it."
I relay.

 

Onyx turns the fifth dial, and the pair are teleported to the medical ward in the Shadow Palace. An earth guardian with a severed arm and gash that looks like the strike that severed their arm dug into their chest and neck is hastily carried past the pair in a stretcher, the guards ordering people to move out of the way.

"the people make people like that purrson better again!" Onyx says happily.

 

"Done in an hour."

"Good enough. Bring me back, and I'll get Ali."

 

"Need anything?"
I ask expectantly.

 

"Yeah. An hour." They say, opening a supply closet.
