Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Very well." Shadow Stephanie says, picking up the body and de-summoning it, before summoning a blue crystal and cleaning up any blood left on the floor using it.

 

"I know, I'm thinking..."

"Not yet."
I say, quickly refreshing myself on the labels that go with the portals.

 

The cafe remains eerily silent, tension heavy in the air.

"Take your time."

Entelp, Xyrnal, Asimuul, Maralune. You've been in Entelp and Asimuul so far.

 

Shadow Stephanie doesn't seem to mind, righting any knocked over chairs or tables and picking up any empty plates or cups, taking them out to the kitchen before looking for a sink to wash them in.

 

The sink is huge, and nothing interferes with her work.

 

Shadow Stephanie works on cleaning the dishes, occasionally glancing around for Ali to check on how she is.

 

"...Any suggestions?"
Crystal asks, unsure.

"Does Maralune seem good to you?"
I ask Rineth.

 

She seems to be calming down slightly.

"Not really. You do you."

"Sure. You can't gag, right?"

 

Once Shadow Stephanie finishes cleaning the dishes and putting them away, she walks over to Ali.

"Is there anything else I can do?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"What are the barrier null types?"

"No, why?"

 

"Not really..."

"It even looks like an alien world."

 

"Well, I'll be taking my leave then," Shadow Stephanie says, "Use that crystal when you want to claim your three deeds. Again, I'm very sorry for what happened."

Shadow Stephanie opens a portal and steps through, leaving.

 

"It's just one type?"

"What's that got to do with me gagging?"

 

Ali just crumples after Shadow Stephanie leaves.

"It's... helpful if you don't gag."

 

A black cat jumps through the portal as Shadow Stephanie leaves, looking around curiously.

 

"I'll get a barrier rune."

"If you say so. Want me to lead?"
I ask.

 

The cafe is quiet and feels hostile, even to the cat.

 

Noticing Ali, the cat rubs up to her, purring.

 

Emerald begins the etching.

"If you'd like."

This startles her, letting out a yelp.

 

The cat jumps backwards, startled too.
