Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Feeling around, Crystal forms spikes to shove into Rineth at his softest or weakest points, keeping a thick-ish layer over the head, however.

 

"Oh, I'm not used to being called by my surname." Katie says, slightly embarrassed, before turning her attention to the other guard.

"You're coming with us." Katie says, serious.

"No, Katie." I say flatly.

"Yes." Katie says, pointing her double trident at me.

"You can't take people hostage, Katie." I say.

"But he's going to get Abigail in trouble!" Katie says.

"We'll figure it out without trying to take people hostage," I say, turning to the other guard, "Sorry about this."

"Why do we have to be nice to them!?" Katie asks, annoyed.

"Because they have something we need, and we won't get that if we go around attacking people and taking them hostage." I say bluntly.

 

The weakest point is his wings, but Crystal's starting to feel sleepy...

They nod.
"Should I let town hall know of your arrival, sir?" They ask you.

Behind the guards, a few Anubi rise up from the sands, walk elsewhere, and sink back down again.

 

Crystal ditches the hold on Rineth's head, but quickly tries to put two spikes through his eyes before he leaves. He then wraps around Rineth's legs, wings, and chest, putting his eyes on Rineth's chest and looking around, squeezing together what Crystal's managed to surround.

 

"Please." I say, taking Katie away from the guards to talk to her.

Abigail appears to have gone missing as Shadow Stephanie heads over to where the Anubi appeared and disappeared.

 

Rineth won't cave easily, but Crystal's grip seems to slowly weaken as his consciousness slowly starts to waiver.

They nod, diving under the sand.

Shadow Stephanie sees tiny color differences in the sand, and surprises an Anubi that comes out of it.
"A-ah! Good morning, new face!" They greet nervously.

 

Crystal tries to get off of Rineth, slithering away before getting back up to face the couple once more.

 

"Sup." Shadow Stephanie says casually.

"Who are you talking to, Stephanie?" Artemis asks happily, walking over.

"Some dude." Shadow Stephanie says casually.

 

Crystal still finds himself weary as he reforms, the dome half filled with the dark smog.

"Oh? More new faces! How are you two doing?" The Anubi says happily.

 

"We're currently looking for a pair of powerful artefacts. From what I know, your people are in possession of one?" Artemis asks.

"I swear we won't try and murder you for them." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

They laugh nervously.
"Yeah, I guess Abigail's a bit infamous now. Maybe I could interest you in some tea?" They offer.

 

Crystal, or something, manages to shake some of the fatigue off, as Crystal uses air magic to attempt to blow the smog away.

 

"I'd love some." Artemis says happily.

"Do you have crumpets too?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

Both Rineth and Linoa cleave at Crystal as he tries to disperse the smog.

"Have what? Um... no, I don't think so. Come on in!" The Anubis says, tapping their foot and being swallowed by the sand.

 

"Aw, what? They don't have crumpets?" Shadow Stephanie asks, disappointed.

Artemis tries tapping her foot on the sand, Shadow Stephanie doing the same.

 

Crystal tries jumping back before flashing brightly, but the flash doesn't last long. He then forms a spear again, and emits light from his eyes, tracking the couple once more.

 

They're whisked down to an underground sandstone room, various plants growing along the walls.
"Sorry, I didn't expect guests, or I would've cleaned up a bit!" The Anubis says sheepishly. "Green or black tea? Those are the easiest to grow here, and all I've figured out how to so far."

Linoa is stunned, but Rineth keeps up the pressure with a flurry of attacks.

 

Crystal forms a thick shield with one hand, trying to block Rineth's attacks and checking for an opening.

 

"Green, please." Artemis says, smiling.

"I'll have black, thanks." Shadow Stephanie says.

The pair glance around the room, curious.

"I should install a trapdoor system like this." Shadow Stephanie comments, glancing up at the ceiling.

 

If Crystal pushes his opening against Rineth, he's vulnerable to a now-refocused Linoa.

The Anubis goes into their kitchen, sink audible in the background.

The ceiling has the same off-colored sand, magically being held up from falling into the house. It seems that shade is a way for Anubi to tell where an entry is, considering everything they have seems to be underground.
