Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal shifts back to his normal form, Rineth's lance protruding from his back. He then advances on Rineth, still keeping on eye on Rineth and the other on Linoa.

 

Muffy seems to be tagging along.

At the edge of the desert, there are two Anubi guards looking at the group somewhat nervously.
"Good morning..." One says uneasily.

Rineth starts letting a dark fog leak from his claws, slowly obscuring visibility. Other than this, he holds a defensive position.

 

Crystal shines light from his eyes, and advances on Rineth slowly, forming a spear, alike before.

 

"Mor'nin." I say as I walk past the guards with Artemis.

Stephanie's golem grunts slightly as it walks past the guards. Shadow Stephanie keeps an eye on the guards as she passes, though Abigail keeps her distance from the guards, Katie sticking beside her.

"Those things are creepy, right?" Abigail asks Katie.

"They look kinda cute!" Katie says happily, glancing at the guards.

 

Rineth feigns a lunging jab at Crystal before sliding back and making a wide swing at him immediately after.

"Excuse me, but... could you use something smaller? That will get stuck in our doors and collapse our roofs." One of the guards asks, bowing respectfully.
The other one seems to have different ideas.
"H-hey, wait... is that...?"
"Nah, they left. Can't be the murderer."
"A-ah... my mistake. I beg your pardon."

 

"I won't bring it into your homes. Don't worry." Stephanie says, smiling. Her golem grunts again, continuing on. Stephanie decides to summon a small chess board in her lap, along with a golem about a quarter of her size. The pair start to play a game of chess as the larger golem heads into the desert, leaving large, sunken in footprints in its wake.

"Murderer?" Katie asks, stopping momentarily to talk to the guards.

 

"Ma'am, please. You're already getting close to our homes." The guard urges Stephanie.

"Red hair, metal claws, helmet with visor... she fits the bill!" The other guard, flustered, tells Katie. "Even smells like the murderer!"

 

Crystal steps back instinctively from the lunge, and repeats with the swing, performing a forceful jab at Rineth with his spear. All the while, he focuses on finding Linoa with his other eye.

 

He doesn't have to look hard; Linoa rams her staff into the middle of Crystal's chest, sharp end forward.

 

"I'll be careful, don't worry!" Stephanie says. The larger golem turns around, walking back over to the guard and towering over him, letting out what almost sounds like a growl.

"Hey." Stephanie says, patting the golem's head. The golem stares at the guard for a short while longer before turning around and walking away again.


"No idea who you're talking about." Abigail says, quickly putting on an (unconvincing) fake moustache.

"Abigail's claws are made of obsidian anyway." Katie says, giggling.

 

"G-ah!"
Crystal shortly says in what seems like a scream, before shifting to lift up the lance from his back and trying to shove it into Linoa, aiming for her neck.

 

"Ma'am, I appreciate it, but everything's underground. I have nothing against your fine companion, but it's just too risky..."

"D-did you say A-abigail?! That's her!" The guard says, diving into the sand
His buddy seems confused.
"Huh? Where'd... what's wrong?"
He scans the group.
"What's the big idea? I don't see it..."

This lets Rineth go in for a cut, Linoa have jumped back once again.

 

Crystal forms his spear back into himself, letting Rineth hit him, and immediately trying to grab and shift around Rineth's arm.

 

"Ugh, fine." Stephanie says, de-summoning both her golems and the chess set.


Katie puts one end of her double trident to the guards neck.

"Get your friend. Now." Katie says, serious.


"Problem." Shadow Stephanie says to Artemis and I, glancing back.

"What's going on here?" I ask, walking back over to the guard.

 

The duo seems to have figured out this tactic, instead opting to simultaneously tear their weapons from Crystal telekinetically.

"H-hey... Miss Aceius, s-settle down... I need to search for him... I promise I'll return in three minutes, j-just give me a moment..."

 

They succeed, but get no Crystal with them, as a goop-ish Crystal is already up Rineth's arm and decides to try to spread out around the rest of Rineth's body.

 

"Aceius?" Katie asks, confused, before her double trident is yanked away from the guard's neck.

"Please don't harass the people we need to acquire stuff from." I say flatly, holding the end of Katie's double trident.

"They're calling Abigail a murderer!" Katie pleads.

"Well don't become one yourself." I say, letting go of Katie's trident. Katie glares at the guard, holding her trident ready, though not at their neck.

 

Rineth lets himself be coated, waiting.

"Katie Aceius, no? Opened a bank account a few months ago."
The other guard returns.
"A-abigail killed five civilians and wounded seventeen and four guards." He stammers, barely able to stand up in front of the group.

 

Crystal coats Rineth's head more than any other body part, going through any opening findable.

 

There don't seem to be any entries to his insides... yet.
