Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Sapphire is startled before hugging back.
"It only hurts me because she was my sister. Once..." She sighs.

 

"She was?" Abigail asks, letting go before the hug gets awkward.

 

"All of the preservers were siblings. Artificial beings, but siblings nonetheless. Made to represent the twelve months in a year... apparently a human year."

 

"That's...strangely close to home," Abigail says, a little creeped out, "I'm pretty sure Shadows have twelve months too. They call them like, Xice, Fereall and Yiuona though."

 

"We were named after the system that the first humans we met used. All named after gems, I think, like Ruby, Sapphire, Peridot, Diamond... you get the idea, I think."

 

"Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Fluorite, Pyrope, Jade, Emerald?" Abigail guesses.

 

"Mostly right. Maybe you know a derivation of the system?" Sophie asks, shrugging. "Anyhow, yeah. That's that. See you tomorrow?"

 

"Uh, oh! Right. Yeah, see you tomorrow." Abigail says, forgetting about Sophie's mask as she closes various pictures she had open on her visor.

 

Sophie and the chimera leave, the other guards remaining silent as they monitor Abigail.

 

Abigail looks around.

"So-" Abigail tries to say, before a dark portal opens behind her and a pair of dark hands grab her and pull her through, the portal closing afterwards.


A long while later, Artemis, Abigail, Katie, Stephanie, Shadow Stephanie and myself head through Xlentia's hallways toward the portal room, looking ready for battle and adventure.

"Do you even remember the portal?" Abigail asks.

"Yeah, it was the first on the right." I say.

"I thought it was the first on the left." Katie says.

"I'm fairly certain it was the second on the left." Stephanie says.

"No, I'm pretty sure it was the second on the right." Artemis says.

"Why don't we admit we're lost?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

"I'm sure this adventure is going to be very fruitful." I say sarcastically.

"I did get information directly on where we're meant to go." Artemis says, thinking back to what the Drow informed her of to remind herself.

 

Muffy hisses at the argument, breaking Artemis' concentration before spitting up a portal leading to the ashes of the group's base camp.

 

He does, shifting away from Linoa a bit slower than he should be, leaving Linoa a part of him that she's still able to hit.

 

Linoa leaps off her staff, hurling it into Crystal as she retreats to the opposite end of the dome, Rineth keeping up the pressure as he lunges to reclaim his lance, grabbing it and swinging around it like a pole to kick Crystal away.

 

"Huh, that works." I say, leading the group through the portal.

"Damn, what happened to our camp?" Abigail asks, looking around the burnt down camp.

Artemis tries to remember the locations of the two relics, trying to put them to her surroundings to figure out where to go.

 

I nod in satisfaction and then fly around for a bit to explore the forest.

 

Crystal, seeing his chance, shifts, and latches onto the lance. Quickly after, he tries going up Rineth's arm.

 

One is in the desert, and the other is in the savage camp. Both were protected by rituals, meaning Artemis would have to gain the favor of the Anubi and the savages...

It's pretty quiet, even the birds silent for the most part.
You can hear some talking from one end of the forest, but they're familiar voices.

Rineth flings himself away from his lance, Linoa hurling a blade of magic at the lance and Crystal.

 

Crystal quickly shifts, grabbing the lance and using it to swat the blade of magic out of the air, then dashing over to Linoa's staff, with the lance, trying to grab that as well.

 

Linoa telekinetically takes her staff back before Crystal can reach it, and Rineth pulls out a shortsword, holding his ground.

 

"We need to go to the desert." Artemis says, turning to head toward the desert.

Stephanie pauses for a moment, before summoning a giant stone golem in front of her which she climbs on top of, riding it toward the desert. Abigail throws Katie a necklace with a snowflake shaped crystal on it, which she puts on, smiling at Abigail.

"Adventure." Shadow Stephanie says, waving her hands as she follows Artemis.
