Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I mean, there's a dust particle on you, and you're still in the vault, so yeah, you probably could." Sapphire says. "As for my mask, it's all up to you now. I could've gotten it back last month if it weren't in your hands."

 

"I was actually going to give it back today, since you reminded me." Abigail says.

 

Crystal jumps around to dodge the feined strikes a few times, but quickly learns, and stops focusing too much on Rineth, equally dividing the attention once more.

 

"Was? How much longer do I have to kill time in a desert to get it back, then?"

Linoa seems to take advantage of the opening but isn't fast enough, diving at Crystal but a bit to the right as Rineth continues to try and get his attention.

 

Abigail points to the needle she pulled out of her wrist.

"For this, one more day." Abigail says.

 

Crystal quickly backs away from Rineth, taking his spear and pointing it at Linoa. He fires what seems like a fireball at her, but the action is a bit rushed, and as such, not pinpoint.

 

"Great. I'm being blamed for a mecha I worked on centuries ago and haven't touched since. Fuck you too, Ruby..." She growls before leaving.

Linoa ends up using her staff to grab and throw the fireball back at Crystal, trying to distract Crystal further as Rineth makes a low sweep at his legs.

 

"Wait wait wait!" Abigail shouts, chasing after Sapphire.

 

She stops.
"I will be. In a desert. As usual."

 

"I want to ask you a question, though. Before you go." Abigail says.

 

"Well, I've got all day." She jokes.

 

Crystal tries dashing away from the fireball, in the opposite direction of Rineth.

 

"Ruby's like, definitely dead, right? Like, no resurrection through that immortality protocol or something? She's gone forever?" Abigail asks.

 

One problem; away from the fireball is towards Rineth.

Sapphire pauses.
"I couldn't tell you for sure." She says, worried.

 

"Can you promise to keep a secret?" Abigail asks.

 

Crystal dives towards Rineth, then, his eyes moving to places on his body that aren't exactly easy to hit.

 

"I'm the one person you should never have to ask. Shoot."

Rineth slams his lance down to block Crystal's movement, jumping back.
Crystal recoils slightly as he crashes against the weapon, but he has a small window to evade Linoa's leaping strike.

 

"I honestly kind of want to see Ruby again. I know she was sort of horrible to the others before she died, but...looking back to how she was when we first met, I believe that part of her is still in there, and I, probably the others too, want to see that Ruby again," Abigail says, "I feel like if I told the others they'd go against my plan though. Is it wrong I want to see the Ruby that was kind and helpful, wanted to upgrade my claws and help out, and was generally nice again?"

 

"I don't think it's wrong. She always had a heart on the wrong side of her ego. If you've been to the training area, if you've seen the doors to Xlentia's chambers, if you've seen the inside of her robotics lab... she wasn't all bad. But... she could change in an instant. Ever since we were trapped in the colosseum, she's been like that." Sapphire sighs. "But you're right, it'd be a terrible idea to bring that up to anyone else in your group."

Sapphire pauses.
"The only concern I have is, how? No trace of her remains. Not in our possession, at least. Without a trace, we can't bring any part of her back."

 

"I don't know. There might not even be a possibility that we even can bring Ruby back. But...if we were to, I want the nice Ruby. Not the horrible one." Abigail says, sighing, before suddenly hugging Sapphire.
