Thieves tools can be used to pick locks, yes. DEX check plus prof if you are proficient with the tools

OMG one of my friends has an arch-Fey warlock who's patron is always high. The warlock always has magic weed and if he gets people high with it, the patron steals their souls

 

That is one of the best ideas I've ever heard.

 

How do I know if I'm proficient with this ?
