Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Indeed." I say, grabbing hold of Allen and teleporting the both of us to the throne room.

 

"A few hundred, maybe. Contrast the thirty thousand before the crash."

He starts looking around, looking a bit worried.
"I don't know who didn't like the old king... it doesn't make sense."

 

"Do you know what made you crash?"

 

"The Bicorn dark magic. They broke through our shield, and hit the engines first. Set us on a crash course. Their fleet ended up coming down to that planet when they sensed we weren't all dead. That's about when Sivius destroyed every ship but their mothership and killed all of them but their leader. If he didn't intercept, I wouldn't be talking to you."

 

"What were they after?"

 

"Extinction. Our Supreme Warlock's staff is a dormant relic that, like all stereotypical fairy tales, is the one thing we know of that can stop the Bicorns. Of course other stuff will work, like your goddess erasing them directly, but all we have access to is the staff. For now." The Cornae sighs, clearly unhappy with their situation. "So many patterns everywhere. It's almost like history repeats itself just to be ironic."

 

"So, the Bicorns are just blood-hungry assholes?"
I clarify.

 

"They find the universe plagued by imperfection, that everything has pushed itself to a point where perfection is impossible. They want to return everything to null to, and note how I don't agree, 'restore hope to the universe.'"

 

"And they get fucked sideways by one draconian. Seems like they were just asking for it."

 

"You realize the extent of Sivius' power, don't you? He can sacrifice his own life force to let the blades control his body. Every time you see that twilight burning in his eyes? That's not twilight, that's the blades eating away at his existence; the smoke of a burning candle. It's limited, and thus he knows his time draws nearer every time he uses their power." The Cornae warns. "He burned off seven suns worth of energy causing every bolt and piece of their fleet to fall apart spontaneously. That's as much energy as what those runic tablets your goddess keeps has, whatever crazy spell she has in them."

 

"Is that so."
I ask, but it's barely a question.

 

"Unless you want to experience being disassembled, I wouldn't pick a fight with him."

 

"Perhaps the cataclysm killed him."

 

"Yet something, or someone, messed with his skeleton..."

 

"What?" Abigail asks, confused.

"Agh, god dammit." I say, annoyed, as I seem to have died in the game. I hand the controller to Artemis and flip back over to normal position.

"So how did you and Stephanie meet?" Artemis asks, smiling as she starts a new game.

 

"I wasn't planning on doing so, honestly."

"We're gonna work on dealing with multiple enemies at once, and she brought Muffy to help."
Crystal says, pointing to the cat next to him.
"She went to get other people after Muffy didn't seem like the best choice."

 

"Oh, I've met Muffy," Abigail says, "So, who are you fighting?"

 

"Quite odd. Perhaps it's that Hexamancer Mera."

 

"Whoever Linoa gets."
Crystal shrugs.

 

"Hm," Abigail says, "So how have things been with Thirteen?"
