Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"The blades deny it."

 

Praecantatia seems suspicious, probably harming Sivius' chances of gaining her trust.

"What are those blades' origin and material?" Praecantatia asks, dragging a few books over to her.

 

"Legend says they are the remains of my homeworld's sun and mood. They bind themselves to the power hungry, killing their wielders if they do not obey their desires. I'm different, for some reason... they guide, I follow. Ever since they lead me into a singularity, their paradoxium edges have stabilized."

 

Praecantatia puts Sivius' capsule down, reading through her books for a while, before pulling her goggles down.

"Can I see your blades?" Praecantatia asks, easily popping the top off of Sivius's capsule and letting him out.

 

He unsheathes them and scans them, before handing the broadsword to Precantatia and sheathing his rapier.
"Only one permits inspection."

 

Praecantatia narrows her eyes, before scanning the broadsword for curses, hexes, enchantments, bound souls or self-sentience with her goggles.

 

The broadsword is self sentient, runes flashing slightly among the brilliant light it radiates.
It's hexed with a contract that must willingly be accepted by a wielder. It seems to only temporarily be allowing Precantatia to hold it.

She, however, feels like she knows its name; Wreltchyopletzik.

 

OOC: I know that name, too. I barfed once and made that noise.

"Can you communicate, Wreltchyopletzik?" Praecantatia asks the blade telepathically.

 

Slight rune etchings flash in response. Precantatia can't understand their meaning though, despite her status as a goddess of magic.

 

Praecantatia quickly draws the runes on a blank page in her book.

"Who is your creator?" Praecantatia asks.

 

More rune flashes, none of them repeats.

 

Praecantatia draws them as quickly and accurately as she can.

"Why have you bound yourself to Sivius? Do you mean him harm, or are you simply exploiting him?" Praecantatia asks.

 

More flashes, again without duplicates.

"I can interpret afterwards if you'd like." Sivius offers.

 

"Thank you, I was hoping you would." Praecantatia says out loud happily, drawing the runes.

"Do you have evil intentions?" Praecantatia asks telepathically.

 

More unique runes.

"Should I start now, or wait for you to finish?" Sivius asks.

 

"I am finished." Praecantatia says after she finishes drawing the runes. She slides open a drawer in her desk, the drawer full of mage crystals of various sizes, before pulling out a dark green crystal. Praecantatia keeps the crystal in her hand as she gently presses on her book, causing it to shrink in size to a holdable size for Sivius. Praecantatia puts her hand, facing upwards, on her desk in front of Sivius, broadsword and book on it for him to take.

 

Sivius sheathes his blade as he starts reading.

"A response should suffice...

My creator has fallen, forgotten by those he stands for...

He is a suitable vessel for those forgotten but not yet lost...

I need not answer yet. When I rise again, I may choose to say. I always rise again...


...That's it." Sivius says.

 

Praecantatia seems to be writing down the translations and questions to them on a note.

"Thank you again, Sivius. You have been a great help." Praecantatia says, smiling.

 

"Would you like to ask the follow up?" Sivius asks.

 

"Go on." Praecantatia says, slightly intrigued.
