"Well, I wish to revive the king of the ruins nearby to propose that he be governor of my colony here." I say, "If you wish, I can offer you payment-in physical and not."

 

"That is the only reason I had in mind." Sivius says. "If you wish to ask more of me, I'm apparently easy to find."

"Gold seems standard, so that and... What else do you have?"

 

"I can grant you access to the library of my kingdom, which quite frankly is one of the largest libraries I have ever seen.

 

"Very well. I sensed you had a possible question on your mind, but if that is all, may your travels be safe and your will strong." Gaia says.

 

"Yay!"
Crystal says, excited, before going through, me following suit.

 

"Anything else?" Merla asks, uninterested.

"I cannot justify asking my other question, so I won't. I hope to speak with you again some day, under less tense conditions."

Xlentia comes through last, forgetting about the Cornae on her back.

 

"If you have a question for me, then I suggest you ask it. You'll seldom have the opportunity to talk to me, or any other god or goddess, for that matter, in the future." Gaia says.

 

"Then the matter will follow me into nothingness." He says, somehow unperturbed.

 

"Very well. I hope you and your love interest are happy together." Gaia says, before everything seems to go silent. Sivius feels the liquid start to drain, his connection with life rapidly retreating before the flower blooms. Sivius appears to be covered in a green substance, any non-hydrophobic clothing wet. Myria meditates nearby, her scythe held ready by a pair of wooden hands.

 

The only thing non-hydrophobic is the rag covering his broadsword, its light now unchecked as it glows brightly.

 

Myria opens her eyes, looking at Sivius.

"How was your conversation with Gaia?" Myria asks kindly.

 

"She pardoned me. I still need to speak with Tenebrae and... Phoebe...? I think. The god of time concerns me not." He says.

 

"I have not heard of 'Phoebe' before. I wish you luck on your quest, however." Myria says, smiling.

 

He nods, covering his broadsword as he heads back to the shadow realm, thinking.
"To get into a timeless realm... I..." He mutters to himself as he heads away from the palace.

 

Heading away from the palace leads Sivius down a pathway to the main city, a few Shadows sitting around idly at the end of the path, looking up at the palace.

Meanwhile...

Abigail turns off her music, jumping off Xlentia's back before catching herself with her rocket boots, deciding to fly out of Xlentia's chambers and toward the library.

 

He opts to walk through the city, figuring he may as well get to know the place.


The library is slightly less busy than normal, but just as silent as ever.

 

The city appears to be much less dense near to the palace, however once Sivius gets nearer the middle, he notices a lot more Shadows walking around. Various shops line the roads, each advertising something different to the last. As Sivius passes alleys between buildings, he notices a few homeless Shadows, small piles of bronze, silver and rarely gold coins near them. Most homeless give Sivius hopeless looks, clearly having given up on even asking for change.

As Sivius walks along, he hears a scream and a cry for help from one of the nearby alleys.


Abigail looks around for any Shadows in the library.

 

Curious, he peeks in that alley.


There are a few, most of them palace workers.

 

A young looking air guardian, her wings outstretched, holds her hands up, a rough looking Shadow holding a crude knife to her neck.

"Shu'up and gis your coin!" The Shadow demands.


Abigail walks over to one.

"Excuse me, do you have the ability to open a portal to the Shadow Palace?" Abigail asks politely.

"Hm? Oh, sure thing." The Shadow says, opening a portal for Abigail.

"Thank you." Abigail says, heading through the portal.

 

Sivius slaps his tail against the ground.
"The hell's going on?"
