Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What do you even do?" He mimics.

 

"We're travelling around, and we're soon gonna defeat this mind-control guy called the Hive Master!"
Crystal says, taking it seriously.

 

"Probably someone kind who respects me for who I am and likes similar things to me." Abigail says, thinking.

 

I fly down to Allen.
"I took some of your tools already and sent for them to be repaired." I say.

 

"Travelling around." The bird mocks.

"Oh, thanks. I, uh... I'm not used to talking to a god-king. Are you sure your people won't shun me for doing it?"

"Any names thus far, or still looking?"

 

"Of course not. Speaking of which, we have some texts for you to decipher."

 

"Oh! Is that what you do?"

 

"Oh, right. I'll look into them, but I'd like to finish salvaging the tools from the farms. Do you need me to do it now, or can it wait?"

"No. What you do."

 

"Nobody, really. There was this really nice guy I met at this masquerade ball I went to where we rescued Stephanie. He seemed really different from the rest of the guys there too, he treated me like I was some kind of princess and even danced with me without even knowing who I was." Abigail says, sighing, sounding depressed.

 

"Linoa saved the couple she and Rineth spoke with, but she wiped their memories of the disaster. Perhaps they survived as well?" Xlentia asks, trying to offer hope.

 

"He ried to help me get to safety before Aj grabbed him and killed him in front of my eyes..." Abigail says, sighing, "It doesn't matter, though. He probably wouldn't have liked me as much if he knew who I really was. Or maybe he would've done, he wasn't a judgemental asshole like those other guys..."

Abigail's clearly holding back tears.

 

Xlentia sighs.
"Well, this journey has brought your friends together more than it's torn them apart. Maybe you'll find love like Artemis and the shadows?"

 

"Maybe..." Abigail says, "I'm just hoping what happened to Stephanie will happen. I find someone I fall in love with, and we end up going on a date. I mean, Aj and Artemis clearly had feelings for each other before they admitted it, and I don't know of anyone in the group like that."

 

"But what do you do?"

 

"Well, no sense just hoping. Didn't I give you, like, four big worlds to go look in?" She asks.

"What do you do?" It mocks, unhepfully.

 

"I guess..." Abigail says, sighing.

 

"What's wrong? Don't like them?" She asks, worried.

 

"No, it's not that. It's just...ugh, I don't know. It's not that simple." Abigail says, frustrated with herself.

 

"Do you just... live? That seems kinda boring."

 

"Hey. You've got an immortality protocol. You've got time." Xlentia reassures.
