"So, your weapons are possessed or cursed or something?" Abigail asks, a little freaked out.

 

"Sentient. They're the remains of our world's sun and moon."

 

"Whoa. Cool," Abigail says, "But...why is one of them dark?"

 

"Moon."

 

"So your moon was like, dark or something? As far as I know, moons reflect light, they're not naturally attuned to darkness." Abigail asks, confused.

 

"Correct, they reflect light. Besides, ours weren't entirely natural. Our sun could become a phoenix in a time of dire need, and our moon was... hell if anyone knows."

 

"Phoenixes are pretty rad," Abigail says casually, "So uh, will your blades kill you if you take some time to chill?"

 

"No, only if I ignore them."

 

Abigail pats the spot of Xlentia's armour next to her, signalling Sivius to lie down next to her.

 

Sivius sits, seeming to be idle anyways.

 

"So what do you do for fun?" Abigail asks casually.

 

"I dunno. I've been hoping for a duel, but that's net me a reputation as a godslayer. All my techniques are meant for single combat."

 

"I'd rather not die instantly in a duel with you, thanks." Abigail says, serious.

 

"I wouldn't do it to you."

 

"The only conceivable duel I can see you losing is one against Aj, and then he'd have to cheat." Abigail says.

 

"Everyone who's said that tried to pull chronomancy against me. Little do they know that as an illegitimate being, I have a null field that completely voids one type of magic around me. In my case, it's chronomancy."

 

"Huh. Well, I mean, I can see him cheating another way too." Abigail says.

 

"He's welcome to duel me. If he's as strong as you say, I'd quite enjoy introducing him to long forgotten dueling techniques."

 

"Yeah, no." Abigail says flatly.

 

"Then why bring it up?"
