Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"How? My greatest progress isn't enough for him, and I can't fight him..." Shadow Stephanie says sadly.

 

"Your progress, or that of your subjects?" The centaur asks.
"He only cares for the direct. Implication means little to him."

 

"What do I do!?" Shadow Stephanie pleads, exhausted.

 

"I don't know. I'm not you. If you are a royal, then you must have advisors, no? Why not consult them?"

 

Shadow Stephanie sighs, letting herself fall through a portal.

 

The centaur resists the urge to follow her, concerned.

 

The portal closes soon after, though a gold coin remains in its place.

 

The centaur leaves the coin alone, mostly out of fear.

 

A long while later, Shadow Stephanie steps through a portal to the void palace, looking for Sivius.

 

He doesn't seem to be there yet.

 

Shadow Stephanie sits and waits, annoyed.

 

"If you wish I can provide you some quarters back in my kingdom. We do still need your help, as there's some texts and the mangled skeleton of who I suspect was your king."

 

Emerald glances at her in passing.
"Looks like it didn't go well. Why'd you leave Mistress and the two constructs there on their own?"

 

"Don't know." Shadow Stephanie says bluntly.

 

"Why don't you go back? Sitting around here won't help them."

"Thanks, but no thanks. My house will be fine for tonight."

 

"Sivius said he'd be here. I'm going to make him join us, because a centaur told me how." Shadow Stephanie says bluntly.

 

Emerald snickers.
"He'd always finish following his lead first. I'd go back if I were you."

 

"To do what? We achieved our goal: to find Sivius. What else am I to do there apart from help those nice centaurs live?" Shadow Stephanie asks, frustrated.

 

"Not ditch Xlentia. Or convince him there before Xlentia tries to get him out of her palace."

 

"Very well." I say, flying back to the base of the survey corps.
