"In that case, I can pardon your inaction. However, next time, just ask to go home please."

Virei'tus turns to Katie, shocked.
"I know she's not Ihra, but are you really going to give up on her sacrifice just like that?" He asks, concerned. "She's willing to tear her soul in half for you and your group, to get Ihra back. Aquira, in her eyes, this situation is like Katie threatening to leave you." He says, deadly serious.



The rose seems to have been planted by her world's Gaia; no other way for it to get down there.
There's nobody else to tell Shadow Stephanie what the fleshy thing is.

There doesn't seem to be anything there, aside from a few bones licked clean and an ash pile near fully burnt logs.

 

"A non carnivorous portal to the underworld? You mean like, that thing is alive but also a portal?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"I wonder how it got there. There's nothing that should allow it to grow..." Abigail says, curious.

 

"As far as I've heard. Then again, this is from the same person that told me there were unicorn people in the snowy mountains. Which, there were."

"Probably someone put it there. Some people can travel through ice, right?"

 

"Like she'd have the decency to do that." Aquira says, doubtful.

"She kept my mother caged up! She didn't even tell me that she was there!" Katie says, "Maybe Aj was right..."

"This world is crazy. Interesting, but crazy." Shadow Stephanie says, confused.


"Water guardians, but I think guardians are exclusive to my world. Unless one came here with that rose, or something else can travel through ice, I have no idea how the rose could've got there." Abigail explains.

 

"Aquira, that's exactly the attitude that got you caged. And Katie? She asked Aquira if she wanted to eat. She only caged your mother up after she started messing up her gold pile, which is like the easiest way to die with her."


A wreck in the desert, a city in a magma region, an empty seeming tundra, and an island far off into the ocean.

"Depends on who you talk to. Anyways, we're going towards that wreck in the desert."
I say, pointing off towards the wreckage.

"Well, it's just a rose, so..."
Crystal shrugs.
"Whatever."

 

"Probably would've poisoned my food." Aquira says, crossing her arms.

"I w-want to go speak to Aj...he can help..." Katie says sadly.

"Gotcha." Shadow Stephanie says, winking.


"Yeah, whatever." Abigail says, laughing, before heading over to Shadow Stephanie.

 

"She's not that indecent. Besides; you can hear literally everything she says and whispers due to her size." Virei'tus sighs, opening a portal to the Shadow Realm.
"I don't keep tabs on Aj, but the guards can tell you where he is." He tells Katie.

 

"T-Thanks." Katie says.

Aquira grabs Kaite's hand before she steps through the portal, getting her attention.

"Stay safe out there, Katie." Aquira says kindly.

"I will, m-mum." Katie says, hugging Aquira before heading through the portal.

 

Virei'tus turns to Aquira.
"Again, I know it means little to you, but I'm sorry about my sister. If there's something I can do for you and you crew to make it up, let me know." He says, sighing. "I understand you don't care about our predicament, but... never mind. It'd be pointless." He rambles.

 

"Are you going to be flying? The sand can be hard to go through."
I ask before we get going.

Crystal seems happy with himself.

 

"Please, make sure Katie stays safe. She's precious to my husband and I." Aquira says, her tone a little more motherly and kind.

"I can manage, it's just sand after all." Shadow Stephanie says, confident.

"Do you mind if I hover?" Abigail asks.

 

Virei'tus hesitates.
"That is my sister's task, not mine." He admits. "I understand your hate towards her, but my sister is kind hearted at her core. She raised a mortal child as her own, once... yet lost trust in all when she was betrayed by the same mortal."

Virei'tus opens another portal, a warzone and court visible as Katie's portal closes.
"Remain vigilant, and ease up on my sister. If she were to find you are necessary for our reality's survival, she will not ask twice." He says, starting to step through the portal.

 

Aquira sighs, "Very well." She says, sounding a little disappointed, watching Virei'tus leave.

 

Virei'tus hesitates one more time.
"And next time? Speak. A yes or no would've gotten you home." He says leaving for good.

 

Aquira shakes her head after Virei'tus leaves, frustrated with herself as she heads back to her quarters.


A long while later, Eve enters Xlentia's chambers through a portal, simply scanning around the area quietly.

 

Xlentia is carefully resetting her gold pile, looking exhausted as she ends up falling asleep with her face in it (in front of Eve).

 

"No, not at all. I'm going to be flying, actually."
I say, turning to Abigail, as Crystal walks over.
"It isn't easy to tread through sand if you're as heavy as a hunk of metal or a bunch of rocks."
"I'm not that heavy."
"True, but it's not easy to tread lightly for you."
"Okay, okay."

 

Eve flies up to Xlentia's head, taking her unconsciousness to scan and measure it, as well as her tendrils and body.

"I find it to be quite the opposite. A lack of light doesn't tend to hold weight, unless I put a focus on having a physical presence." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling.

"Sand is annoying, anyway. It gets everywhere and jams things up if you're not careful." Abigail says.

 

Her presence seems to wake her up.
"Uhnnn..." She groans as Eve finishes her measurements.
