Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Mum!" Katie says desperately.

"Katie!" Aquira says, trying to reach for her daughter.

Katie seems rather distressed at the scene, tears rolling down her cheeks as she sees her mother caged up like an animal.

You're back in the portal room again, Shadow Stephanie typing more commands into the terminal. She certainly seems to move fast.

 

I wait around, while Crystal looks at just what the terminal is.

 

The pair can hug through the bars; in fact, Katie can move through them as if they aren't there at all.

Below, the pair can hear the siblings bicker.
"XLENTIA!"
"Mnhuh? Brother?"
"What is the meaning of this madness?"
"She's a bitch! Reject my gift, won't talk, and acts like she's a higher god!"
"Please, have you not learned to tolerate those insolent few who stand below us?"
"No! They're so few, why do we even let them live! Look at where that got us with the Hive Bastard!"

 

The terminal appears to be hooked up to the portal frame, and Shadow Stephanie types in commands on a keyboard, recieving responses from it as the terminal tries to locate where to go.

Katie hugs her mother tightly, crying as her mother tries to soothe her.

"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS!?" Katie shouts at Xlentia, tears streaming down her face, "I-I thought you w-were nice...y-you said you w-wanted to be like my m-mother, you're nothing like her at a-all!"

 

Crystal waits around for a portal to open, and I put my shirt back on as well as my scarf.

 

Silent, Xlentia pushes them through a portal home and shuts it immediately.

Virei'tus comes through in a separate portal.
"I'm sorry about my sister... She hasn't been handling our mess well. At all." He apologizes. "However, she is right about one thing - Aquira, you should not put yourself above gods. I am liable to protect outsiders once, and no more, from godly harm upon arrival into our reality. If you cast reason aside as she did one more time, I may choose to ignore your plight. Am I clear?" He asks, about to return through his portal.

 

A portal eventually opens to Xlentia's library, Shadow Stephanie heading through.

"I seriously do not understand where you're getting that from," Aquira says, confused, "I was never putting myself above her. She left me with no options of escape, I simply waited for the right moments to act."

"D-Did we really save her?" Katie asks, still crying, "B-Because she still s-seems corrupt..."

 

"Pardon me for the intrusion." I say, following after the dragonling and into the cave.

 

We follow, and I look back to make sure Abigail's following us.

 

Abigail's fairly close behind you, sliding down her visor.

"It's this way, right?" Shadow Stephanie asks, exiting the library.

 

"Yeah, just follow me."
I say, taking the lead, and heading to the portal room.

 

Shadow Stephanie and Abigail follow intently, never falling too far behind.

 

I eventually come across a room that bears four portals, and I enter the one labeled "The Wandering Myth", beckoning for everyone else to come through as well.

 

Shadow Stephanie and Abigail enter, Abigail looking around curiously.

 

Crystal follows as well, as you step out onto what seems to be an ice ocean.

OOC: I guess?

 

"You never spoke, all to wrench some control over her." Virei'tus says bluntly. "As for your question, Katie... mostly. The Hive Master is trying to regain control over her, and your group weakened her nearly to death. She doesn't have much left to resist with. You'll need to find a way to get a bigger threat to his plans in order to take his attention off my sister."

It doesn't speak, curling up in a dark area of the cave as it shivers, spitting fire onto a mostly burnt log for warmth.

As the group steps onto the ice ocean, the bottom of the ocean and a rose visible from the surface, Shadow Stephanie can see the wreckage in question in the desert, near a fleshy portal of some sort.

 

"I never spoke so she wouldn't have anything to hold me against or control me with." Aquira says flatly.

"I d-don't think I like X-Xlentia anymore..." Katie says sadly.

"Ew, the hell is that thing?" Shadow Stephanie asks, pointing at the fleshy portal.

Abigail stares down at the rose, curious.

 

Curious, I decide to inspect the cave for anything interesting.

 

"Either an abomination that'll kill us if we go near it, or the non-carnivorous portal to the underworld. I'm placing bets on the latter, but we haven't been near it, so, no certainties."

Crystal catches Abigail looking at it, and so does he.
"Oh, that's cool. I never noticed it before."
