Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You have?"
Crystal asks, suspicious.
I seem as curious, but less suspicious.

 

"Why are you being mean to Xlentia?" Gaia asks the captain.

"Me? She's the one that first scared my crew half to death, somehow managed to get my daughter, then made a bunch of false claims and lies!" The captain says.

Gaia looks at Xlentia.

"Well, it's kind of hard not to expect someone when a guard tells you they're waiting at the gate claiming they know you." Shadow Stephanie says, dropping her sinister tone and laughing slightly.

 

"She says that I'm lying in that I'm a goddess, I have followers, I have a gigantic gold hoard, and that I'm Tenebrae's counterpart, among other things." Xlentia lists. "And, I'll tell you again, your daughter has helped me directly, and has been working with me and my followers for a couple years now." She says to the captain.

 

"Oh, right."
"Fair enough."

 

"And where's your proof of any of that?" The captain demands.

"So what are you two doing here? It's certainly a nice surprise to have you visit." Shadow Stephanie asks happily.

 

"You literally called my proof lies without bothering to check." Xlentia turns to Gaia.
"Actually... you came to my palace and I gave you a dragon ride through my domain. Can you verify my claims?"

 

"Yes, I did see you have a lot of gold and live in a palace with creatures hibernating in the walls." Gaia says.

The captain seems rather surprised, "What about my daughter, then?" She asks.

 

"Ask her yourself. She and her friends have been working with my followers against a common enemy - a scourge called the Hive Master who has enslaved countless races and many gods. Your daughter has fought with a mind controlled me- in fact, her and her friends freed me from his control. Thus, I know her well."

 

The captain heads into her quarters, returning shortly after.

"Very well, it seems you weren't lying. However, that doesn't excuse the fact you almost killed my daughter!" The captain says, still rather annoyed.

"She almost killed me too, captain!" The fire guardian from earlier says.

 

"I shielded her, knowing that she may get caught up in any violence. She is completely unharmed."
She turns to the fire guardian.
"As for you, no shit I almost killed you. Never put a pistol in her mouth!" Xlentia complains loud enough for the captain to hear.
"Anyhow... this settled, I have a dragon ride to give."

 

"Are you two friends now?" Gaia asks.

"I don't consider her an enemy." The captain says bluntly.

 

"Friends is a strong world for someone who pissed off a destroyer of worlds." Xlentia says equally bluntly.

 

"We're looking for Aj so we can find Abigail so we can fix a starmap so we can find this myth guy!"
Crystal seems very excited.
"Well, we're more looking for Abigail, if you have any contact to her it can cut out the middle man. Nothing against the king, but it'd probably be more efficient."
I clear up.

 

"Xlentia, Captain Aquira, be friends." Gaia says, annoyed.

 

Xlentia glances at Aquira, then Gaia.
"I'm supposed to be friends with someone who just shot at me?" She groans.

 

"Oh yeah, I know where she is. I can take you to her if you wanted." Shadow Stephanie says.

"That was because you scared her," Gaia says, before leaning in close, "People and animals tend to either run away or fight whenever they get really scared. She only shot at you because she thought you were a threat, but I think since you've explained everything, she's not scared anymore."

 

"Okay, yeah, I know that. She still strongly dislikes me, and I don't know why I should be friends with a mortal who thinks I'm garbage. Usually I just beg brother to let me smash them." Xlentia groans, still audible to the ship due to her size.

 

"I'd be willing to make a truce so that there is no negative ground between us." Aquira says, crossing her arms.

"See?" Gaia says happily.

 

"A truce isn't a friendship. Still, I'll hear you out." Xlentia says, still skeptical. "I, however, can guarantee divine protection is out of the question for you, despite Katie already having it." She adds.

 

"I'll allow you to continue to see my daughter, and will not attack you, if you do not attack me or bring harm to my daughter. Through both action or inaction." Aquira states.
