Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The scientists turn around.
"That's just a hologram, Miss Katie." One of them says, the other making microadjustments to her soul representation.

 

"Oh," Katie says, turning red in embarrassment, "S-So, I was told you wanted to study me?"

 

"If you wish. It is optional; but since dying here tends to be brutal, we'll only have maybe a few threads of your soul and a piece of an organ on a good day to reconstruct you from. The more we know about you, the less of you we need for reconstruction."

 

"What do I need to do?" Katie asks.

 

"Sit in a chair over there and let let us anesthetize you. We'll only take four hours of your time." They say, pointing near a few dozen tubes filled with odd liquids.

 

"U-Uhm, y-you're not uh...a-am I going to keep my clothes on?" Katie asks nervously.

 

"Of course. Anything disturbing is studied through holograms."

 

Katie turns red, embarrassed, "O-Ok, I'll go sit in the c-chair then." Katie says, heading over to the chair and sitting down.

 

"Huh."
Crystal thinks, then smiles.
"Emerald probably has a book on it."

Interested, I continue watching and listening to see if something happens.

 

One of the scientists injects her with a powerful anesthetic, Katie quickly falling asleep.

...

As she wakes up, the scientists are working with a hologram of her, except tree diagrams are everywhere around her as they insert notes and observations.
"Thank you, Miss Katie. We should only need two grams of your remains to reconstruct you now."

"True."

Nothing else happens as the four combatants head upstairs.

 

"Wassappened?" Katie asks sleepily, rubbing her eyes.

 

"You're done!" The scientist says, the remaining anesthetic wearing off quickly.

 

"Should I get the others to come in here for examinations?" Katie asks happily.

 

"Only if they want to. Except Abigail. She hurts herself so much, we don't need to have her here to get samples of her cells, blood, and soul."

 

Katie laughs.

"Are you sure you don't want her?" Katie asks, amused by the scientist's humour.

 

"Yes. I'm not kidding; we can actually revive her five times already." They say bluntly. "Plus we want no conscious Abigail in here. Ever, if possible. This stuff is fragile and extremely deadly."

 

Katie laughs again, "Ok, ok, I won't get her to come in here." She says, heading toward the exit of the lab.

 

"Thank you, Miss Katie. Have a nice day." They say, door sliding open.

 

"You too!" Katie says happily, leaving the lab and looking around the halls.

 

All the norm passing by, mostly to and from the library.
