"Sweetie, can I ask why your voice changes a little every now and then? It's like you're two people in one."

The kobold nods.
"I figured you'd say that. Robots use more logic than a war-torn world."

 

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

I shrug.
"Actually depends on which robot you talk to, but I get your point."

 

"It just changes slightly. I don't know why, you just sound different half the time."

"If you still think that, you haven't seen anything yet."

 

"Well, if that's the case, then I dunno why either. Maybe it's because I'm magic or something?"
Crystal suggests.

"It's hard to create a robot with feelings driving it. Not impossible."

 

"You just changed mid-sentence. Are you sure you're okay, sweetie?"

"Not uncommon, either."

 

"Yeah, I'm fine."
Crystal says confidently.

"Then why'd you harp on me for bringing up the fact that not all robots are driven by logic?"

 

"Okay, then. As long as you're sure, I guess."

"I didn't think I had."

 

"Hm."
Crystal just thinks.

"Not quoting you, but you said that robots use a lot of logic, and I responded with the idea that it depends on what robot you talk to, and you responded with 'If you still think that, you haven't seen anything yet.' Unless I am mistaken."

 

"What?"

"If you think they're using less logic than a war-torn world."

 

"Nothing. Just thinking about it."

"Vague-ish term."
I shrug.
"It's a very varied subject, no need to delve this deep into it."

 

"Thinking about the voice change?"

"True. Good luck, robot."

 

"Yeah..."

"Thanks. And you, whatever you may be off to doing."

 

"Any ideas?"

"This. All day. All week. All year..."

 

"Well the guy who created me never said anything about it for nine years, so I still dunno."

"Hm. Have a good day, in that case."

 

"Who created you?"

"You too."

 

"I dunno. Never saw him, and he never told me his name."

I smile, and walk away turning my attention towards other fights.

 

"Thanks, but...I've been trying to kick the stuff. I've been drinking far too many potions recently, and I feel like drinking the antidepressent is just pausing the problem instead of fixing it." Stephanie admits.

 

"Just wanted to know. That's fine."

There aren't many. There's a group of mages battling and the two on two still dragging on.

Linoa nods.
"I know how it feels. Kinda annoyed that I have to tell Xlentia that she wasted my time, but so be it."
She pauses.
"I dunno if you realize everything she's trying to do for your forgiveness. I told her she should lay off, but you're most of her focus."

 

"I wish I knew his name, it'd make it easier to find him. Kinda sucks."

I gain interest in the two-on-two, walking over.

 

"Well, can't sweat it much, can you? Won't do much good."

One assassin and one support mage on both sides, they seem to be wearing themselves out. One mage is relentlessly empowering their partner, where the other is using barriers to make a nigh impregneable defensive position.
As usual, it seems to be a (very active) standstill.
