I saw a thread recently wondering about a main storyline (or the lack of one), and I decided that I would piece together the quests already here to form a pseudo -main-storyline. The quests are in order from lowest level to highest level.

Why I chose what I did

Spoiler: King's Recruit

King's Recruit is like the beginning of everything. And as such, with beginnings, it must be included.

Spoiler: Mushroom Man

Mushroom Man has an item needed for ToL. It also has a lot of ties to ???.

Spoiler: Creeper Infiltration

Creeper Infiltration has an item needed for ToL.

Spoiler: Maltic's Well

Maltic's Well has an item needed for ToL.

Spoiler: Grave Digger

Grave Digger has an item needed for ToL.

Spoiler: Cluck Cluck

Cluck Cluck has an item needed for Reincarnation. Also Nohno is involved in ???.

Spoiler: Drought Sand

Drought Sand is a quest where you (somehow) save Almuj with 1 water bottle. Anyhow, the saving of an entire city is a big deal.

Spoiler: Wynnexcavation Site A

Wynn A is.. kinda needed. It's needed to start Wynn D.

Spoiler: Wrath of the Mummy

Wrath of the Mummy has an item needed for ToL.

Spoiler: Heart of Llevigar

Heart of Llevigar is a quest where you save Llevigar from exploding. Again, the whole 'saving a city' thing.

Spoiler: Bob's Lost Soul

Bob's Lost Soul has you discover Bob's tomb (needed for Reincarnation), and it also has an item needed for ToL.

Spoiler: Wynnexcavation Site B

Wynn B has an item needed to start Wynn D.

Spoiler: House of Twain

House of Twain.. is... Well, to start off, it involves the House of Twain which in turn, involves Mael. Mael is involved in the Bob storyline. Mael is also present in the quest A Grave Mistake, and the graveyard there has some possibly Dernic rocks.

Spoiler: Rise of the Quartron

Rise of the Quartron has some ties with Heart of Llevigar, and the scientist who built the Quartron possibly had plans to destroy Karoc Quarry and maybe Llevigar. The quest might also have some evidence of Gavel Excavation - part of Wynnexcavation (and a large, large conspiracy).

Spoiler: A Grave Mistake

A Grave Mistake involves Mael (and in turn, Bob) as well as those Dernic rocks I was talking about earlier.

Spoiler: Wynnexcavation Site C

Wynn C has an item needed to start Wynn D.

Spoiler: Lost in the Jungle

Lost in the Jungle has an item needed to start Aldorei pt. 1

Spoiler: Taproot

Taproot is the beginning quest in the Realm of Light storyline. You also see what caused the beginning of the decay in the dark forest, as well as what it was like before the decay.

Spoiler: Memory Paranoia

Memory Paranoia involves a cursed household. The.. idk, lord of the manor? was possessed and mentioned the "one who started the war" and some other things involving the war between light/dark. It also has a connection to ???, with the black spoon.

Spoiler: Temple of the Legends

Temple of the Legends requires you having lots of items from previous quests. You then gather some ingredients and end up fighting the Corrupter of Worlds, the first miner. CoW started the war in the province of Wynn, so to speak. CoW is an extremely powerful being of the corruption, and thus is important.

Spoiler: Haven Antiquity

Haven Antiquity references Bob, and also has Dern Beasts, which is important.

Spoiler: Wynnexcavation Site D

Wynn D gives a lot of exposistion on the war as well as has you stop Amadel, a powerful being who wanted to harness the powers of ancient crystals scattered around Wynn. These crystals (being so powerful) are important, as well as you saving the Wynn Province.

Spoiler: Finding the Light

Finding the Light is the next quest in the Realm of Light storyline and deals with you finding the Realm of Light.

Spoiler: Reincarnation

Reincarnation has you fight Bob, legendary hero of Wynn.

Spoiler: The Realm of Light

The Realm of Light is the last quest in the Realm of Light storyline and has you destroy the seeds of Darkness and Desolation (perhaps the seeds that Mr. Caritat mentioned?). Both seeds "give birth to monstrous creatures of darkness." Which are not good for the Realm of Light.

Spoiler: Aldorei's Secret Part 1

Aldorei's Secret Part 1 has you take a test for access to Aldorei Valley.

Spoiler: The Bigger Picture

The Bigger Picture requires you to complete the quest in order to get the shrinking mushroom for ???.

Spoiler: Aldorei's Secret Part 2

Aldorei's Secret Part 2 has you take another test, but this time, amidst the numerous puzzles and parkour/other things the story of the war is told from the elves' point of view.

Spoiler: From the Bottom

From the Bottom has an item called Bob's journal (or maybe notebook). It also deals with Mehme, one of the NPC's in ???.

Spoiler: ???

??? involves 3 great scientists, the possible creation of a mythic and a whole host of other (probably) important things.

Spoiler: Belly of the Beast

Belly of the Beast has you (kinda) save Thanos from a possible impending dragon attack.

Spoiler: Beyond the Grave

Beyond the Grave has you visit Death, who speaks in ALL CAPS and makes a lot of puns. Speaking with Death (and remembering it) is a big deal.

Spoiler: Fantastic Voyage

Fantastic Voyage has you enter a realm which may or may not be Dern.

Spoiler: 1,000 Meters Under

1,000 Meters Under involves the discovery of and extremely powerful crystal as well as immortal void-people.

Spoiler: The Fortuneteller

The Fortuneteller involves the shattering of the sky islands; an important event.

What about the quest with the mushroom for "???" as that is missing. I think it's "The Bigger picture" but i may be wrong.

 

Well you don't have to do the quest in order to get the mushroom.

 

From the bottom mentions Mehme, not Nohno. Otherwise, this was great! Keep up the good work!

under House of Twain it says Mael and dernic rocks appear in Beyond the Grave when it should be in A Grave Mistake

So the protagonist would know exactly what that shrinking shroom he/she/it/zer never heard about to get the item? It (to me) makes more sence if you do the quest so you (in the player's perspective) know what your doing.

Proposing that you'd know that the thing you are looking for is at the place you never knew existed and you have no prior experience with is a little extreme of an assumption. Sure you could have (some how) walked on in there by chance, but to know that is where the thing is is crazy.

And yes, it's ???, nothing is ment to make sence. But why not try to mkae some more?

Plus, it's a nice quest with a nice gimmick in it, with a nice pair of rings to go with.

And i just spent a good 10 minutes wrighting a paragraph to make a point that isn't really going to do anything... eh, whatever.

Let's not forget about @jpmrocks' fantastic timeline, shall we.

 

I don't think so, considering that purple and blue only mentions the three scientists as well as the cosmic energy/madness sort of thing.

His timeline features all events, not just quests, as well as quests I would deem as side quests (like a confused farmer).

I'd deem a confused farmer a side quest because it doesn't fit in with the larger scheme of things. I've included things about the war between light/dark, ToL (key word here is legends), Bob (the greatest hero of Wynn - he also has some stuff to do with the war), ??? (I mean... it's ???), quests (standalone) where you literally save a city, and quests that just seem important (like beyond the grave - meeting death and remembering it is pretty important).
Of course, this is all my own opinion and is subject to change.
But that's how I see it.

 

I know, I know. Your timeline is nice too, I'm just pointing out jpm's one, for people who are searching for the timeline apart from the quests.

I'm just saying that the fortune teller has a LOT to do with the history of the sky islands (all of it) and certainly is not a fluff quest.
