Archer/Hunter ✣ New Concept ✣ Earth Stinger Widowmaker ✣ W/ Video Demo

Hi welcome to my New Concept build series where I share new ways to abuse utilise game mechanic combos to make new and interesting builds!

Builds in this series won't be perfect for all cases, but instead will probably be highly situational, meaning it will be less powerful in some situations. However the most important thing that being focused on here is FUN, may involve requiring the player to adapt a particular playstyle but hey who doesn't like a bit of switcheroo and role play.

Build Info

This build with be base on the legendary bow Stinger, build type would be Earth/Air Melee Sniping. To those who don't know Stinger is the wybel weapon that will forever stays in super slow attack speed. With exceptionally high base damage and putting 2x T6 earth powder on it can do devastating damage both in the forms of melee per shot and earth powder special quake.

If you're an overwatch player, you'll understand this perfectly, but if you're not, Widowmaker is a character available in the FPS game overwatch, she is a sniper character able to deal high damage per shot. One of her ability is the grappling hook which allow players to grapple to relocate to high vantage points, or grapple to walls and take a shot mid air. It is the mid air sniping part that we're trying to recreate.

Mechanic Abused: Close range enemies unable to damage you mid air, escape stomps blinds close range enemies, mana regens during escape

Playstyle: Take one shot while escape to mid air, mana will regenerate while falling down and moving to relocate, allow for another escape, then escape again to make another shot. After quake is charged, escape onto the target's face and unleash 35k of earth punishment. If exploding activates you get even more damage. Demo here

Armours

Helmet: Morph Stardust
⇰ Skill points is another essential element to this build, morph stardust is almost a perfect helmet for most situations, it is used here because our build require skill points in all five skills and it also gives a bit extra mana regen

Chestplate: Taurus
⇰ Since Stinger will forever stays in Super Slow, theres no point in changing the attack speed. Taurus post buff now gives max 45% melee damage, as well as good raw melee that will get buffed by Quake

Leggings: Earth Breaker
⇰ Good melee and earth damage, -LS is countered by Stinger's LS

Boot: Hive Boot
⇰ Obtained with Master Voucher in Hive shop, these boots gives exceptional defence and hp to compensate the lack of these two in this build, also give 15% earth damage and 20% melee which is quite handy shall I say

Accessories

Ring 1: Concentration
⇰ Best mana regen rings without intel requirement, giving 2/4 mana regen each supporting the infrequent usage of spells in this build

Ring 2: Prism
⇰ Applying one prism can give some extra skill points to reach the high skill requirement of the gears

Bracelet: Diamond Earth Bracelet
⇰ Obtain through Legendary Island, this necklace require 100 strength but gives great earth and melee bonus

Necklace: Gigabyte / Gold Fusion Necklace
⇰ +4 SP All Stat, if you're lazy you can use Gold Fusion as well

Final Comment

Quite an unique build and playstyle I know, but the results are quite decent, damage per shot, amazing quake damage, high HP, high elemental defence, high agility and high mobility. Try to stay on the ground as least as possible and use escape (double jump if you can) to shoot your enemy in mid air. Would work best to slow moving targets since this is not hit scan but I think should work quite nice against Qira with she's basically standing and you're constantly moving as well as exploding should activate and take out a bunch of her hp sometimes.

Ofc this is also a backbone to some amazing skill point based duo elemental build. Hope you guys can find this inspiring, not only in terms of gear choices, but in making creative and new build style as well :)

Puppeteer -> Taurus?

nice job! I have been working on something like this recently, and I really like this. Can you solo wybel/qira? I have been using this escape playstyle a lot with other archer builds, but never really made a build around it. Its a little glass cannony for my taste, but still looks pretty nice. Maybe replace the leggings for vaward or something for the health (and it doesn't diminish damage too much).

 

Actually Taurus gives more attack overall; Taurus gives ~1800 DPS, while Puppeteer gives ~1500 DPS with stinger

 

The ws is fairly important on Puppeteer, especially since range is very important in this build. I doubt it would be more opportune to use Taurus even with its higher dps in this case.

 

But you have many, MANY escape tools even without WS, such as escape and arrow shield

I like how you put the Overwatch Play of the Game music in the background

Hack = Spin Attack (blind enemies)
Machine Pistol = Multihit
Translocation = TP Scroll

Sombra = Assassin Confirmed
now all you need to do is shout HELLO THERE whenever you exit your invis

 

The only reason I like this is because of the video alone

MAKE THIS TAURUS GODDAMMIT IT HAS LIKE 40% MELEE AND LIKE 1600 RAW MELEE AND COMPLETELY OUTCLASSES PUPPETEER NOW

33% max but yeah I'd probably go with it especially considering the 2400 extra hp. The problem lies more with skill points, since you lose the +2-7 strength from puppeteer and need 90 for taurus.
