Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There are a few strange sounds from the air vents above them, one of the one of the grates looking like black tentacles seep through and take it off for a moment before putting it back again; though it seems so bizarre that it could've just been a trick of the mind.

As the pair dance, they can see Artemis walking about in some of the other rooms from the doorway at the far end of the room, Artemis glancing directly at them briefly before walking onward.

 

The couple keep dancing, face still as a costume.

 

After a while, the pair can see me waiting in a doorway, looking at them and motioning them over once they see me.

 

They bring their waltz in your direction.

 

"I think I've found Stephanie. There's air vents to all the rooms apart from one, which looks like it's been blocked off." I say quietly.

 

"Muffy's gonna follow you there. Tell the others we may need to make a rough evac." Linoa whispers back.

 

"Got it. I'm going to get Artemis to come and assist with getting past security." I say, before casually walking over to Abigail, who seems to have stopped dancing and simply talks with the man she was dancing with.

After talking to Abigail, I head into another room, presumably to get Artemis.

 

Muffy, disguised as a normal cat, trails at your feet.

 

Artemis and I head toward the staircase, going up the wide stairs. After reaching the top, I glance upward at the air vents for a bit, getting my bearings before following a vent route to a padlocked, bolted, chained, barred...essentially an extremely locked iron door, a pair of security guards standing outside of it.

"This area is off limits. The party is down stairs, please leave immediately." A security guard says sternly.

"No." I say, drawing Shadow Katana. In a blink if an eye, I deftly decaptitate both guards, their heads falling to the ground as blood sprays from their neck stumps.

Artemis begins growing tight vines around the locks and bars preventing entry into the room, pulling them off and unlocking the locks. A security guard passes by, and, noticing the scene, grabs his walkie talkie quickly.

"RED ALERT, WE'VE G-AGH!" The guard can hardly finish his sentence as I ram Shadow Katana through his throat, before pulling it out and slicing him in half in a spin.

"God damn it, we don't have time for this." I mutter, using Shadow Katana to cut into the door with Artemis.


A few security guards walk into the dancing room, the music stopping suddenly.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm awfully sorry to disturb you, but there's been a bit of a problem. Don't worry, we'll sort it out, however everyone is adviced to meet in the gardens for their own safety. You will be allowed back in the mansion once this problem has been solved." A security guard says, using a mic to project his voice.

The people in the dancing room seem rather confused, heading toward the back of the mansion whilst talking amoungst themselves, mostly asking questions.

 

Rineth and Linoa follow from the back of the crowd, emotions well hidden.

Muffy starts lapping up the blood from the decapitated guards.

 

A group of security guards charge in, which I disable with my shurikens before killing them easily with Shadow Katana, slicing away at them almost in a dance. One manages to fire a bullet, that misses Artemis, but doesn't go so wide to not make it obvious she was the target.

Artemis eventually gets past the locks on the door, summoning up her strength in a large wooden hand and punching the door open.

A beaten, bruised and bloody Stephanie lies chained to the ground inside the room her wrists and feet braced. Racks of blunt and sharp weapons lie locked in cases along the walls. Stephanie herself seems to be blindfolded, and wears no clothes whatsoever. Her lack of clothing makes her wounds and bruises all the more obvious, and she looks a lot thinner than she did before; her ribs almost visible. The ground around Stephanie is sticky, dried blood visible from where her wounds bled.

"Holy shit." I say, teleporting over to Stephanie and cutting her chains.

"B-Be, g-gentle...p-please..." Stephanie mutters weakly, her voice hoarse.

Artemis wraps Stephanie's private areas in flowers, before picking her up gently.

"Freeze, assholes! Give us the girl, and nobody gets hurt...as much!" An armoured security guard shouts, a group of security guards with their guns trained on Artemis and I.

I charge toward the security guards, and the armoured security guard shouts "FIRE!"

A volley of bullets fly toward Artemis and I, which I block perfectly, even deflecting some back. The bullets that deflect to the armoured security guard are nullified by his armour, however I do get a few guards in the head before I start disarming the guards. I grab a gun out of one of the security guards hands, shooting him and as many security guards as I can in the head before the clip runs out. I throw the gun at a guard to stun them before rapidly spinning around and slicing through most of the guards. Artemis erects a wooden wall to block some of the fire that I can't deflect, but the blood dripping from her shoulders and legs, as well as her occasional stagger and spurt of blood, indicates she can't block all the bullets before I kill all the guards.

"Let's go, NOW!" I shout, standing amoungst the corpses of the guards as Artemis runs over to me, carrying a barely conscious or alive Stephanie.

 

Rineth and Linoa hear the commotion, disguises fading as Linoa telekinetically crushes every nearby security guard.
"YOU SAW AND HEARD NOTHING." Rineth shouts, reverting to his massive dragon body after Linoa clears out the guards, Rineth himself moving towards the front gate.

 

"Get Stephanie and Abigail out of here, I have some work to do." I say to Artemis at the bottom of the stairs. Artemis nods, and I grow slightly larger.

People scream, running away in fear and back into the mansion, most tripping and falling, scrambling to get away. Unfortunately, for the people, they run into a Shadow with a hunger for blood.

I decide to change my size to be rather small, before dashing between people and possessing them, devouring them from the inside, then bursting out and taking a new host, growing larger with each kill. I eventually grow large enough to simply start picking people up and biting them into pieces, and once I'm even larger, simply eating them whole; grabbing as many people as I can try and fufill my almost insatiable hunger. Few people are able to even get near the front doors, much less to their cars before they're killed.

 

Linoa teleports the couple she talked to out of your targeting range as she heads to the escape car, Rineth's breath putting any pursuers to sleep.

 

I smash a fist through the mansion as my size grows, scooping up the last of the surviving people and eating them whole as I burst through the mansion, letting out a demonic roar, blood dripping from my mouth and bones occasionally dropping.


Linoa finds Abigail waiting in the escape car, ready to drive. Artemis waits in the back seat with Stephanie's head resting on her lap, Stephanie lying across the seats. Strangely, Linoa catches a limousine barreling away from the now decimated mansion in the corner of her eye.

"Come on! Let's get going before king kong gets hungry for fast food!" Abigail shouts, opening the door for Linoa and moving her high heels off the passenger seat.

 

"Worry about you. You're the group, not me." She says, quickly catching up to the limo.

Rineth blasts you with a low intensity hypnofire to keep you from eating the planet whole.

 

Abigail slams the passenger door, before also slamming her foot on the accelerator and driving away from me as fast as she can.

"FuuUUUuuuUUck, I should've fiiIInished my driving lessons!" Abigail says, trying to keep the car steady.


"Faster, honey! Faster!!!" A woman says in the limo, panicked.

"Those bastards took our daughter. I swear on my grave they won't get away with this." A man driving the limo says angrily.

"She's going to need extra punishment for certain." The woman says, trying to calm down.


I roar at Rineth, my red eyes glowing, before turning to follow the cars.

 

Linoa blinks into the limo, cleaning out the back seats before splitting her staff and holding her spear-staff against their necks.
"Shut the fuck up unless you're answering my questions. Clear?" She growls.

Rineth jets hypnofire to keep you from chasing the rest of the group.

 

"H-How the hell did you g-get in here!?" The woman asks, panicked and fearful.


A pair of large Shadow Wings burst out my back, a bit of blood spilling as I turn and wave my wings to try and blow away the hypnofire.

 

The small amount is blown aside, but as Rineth exhales harder, you need to dedicate more energy to continue.


"I ask the questions, not you. Now, are you Stephanie's parents?"
