Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I head back inside, calling for Abigail. Artemis heads inside after me, retrieving her bow and quiver.

A while later, Abigail and I return to the doorway, Abigail wearing her armour.

"Let's go find Stephanie, then." Abigail says casually, heading out onto the platform outside her house.

Artemis and I follow, looking well prepared for adventure.

 

Rineth follows, a confused Sgavrinn in tow.
"I'll take Sgavrinn back safely if either of us start to be pulled back. If we're looking in my reality, then we should probably split up."

 

"If she wasn't with you at the camp, my best bet is she went home." I say, growing a pair of Shadow Wings.

Once Abigail reaches the top of her volcano, she blasts upward with her rocket boots. I grab Artemis before flying off after Abigail.

 

Rineth reverts and follows, along with Sgavrinn following along.

 

The group flies across the land, a city appearing in the distance after a while. A plane flies higher above Rineth, moving in the opposite direction.

"Shouldn't be far now!" I shout.

 

Rineth keeps distance, as does Sgavrinn.
"I hope this is quick and easy..."

 

After a while flying over the city, Abigail and I begin to descend. It appears as if we're headed to a suburban area, one of the houses with a large forest behind it.

 

Rineth reverts and glides down as Sgavrinn seems to have gotten distracted with the forest, opting to go there first.

 

The house appears to be much larger, almost a small mansion, from the perspective given by the higher view.

I land near the front door of the house, putting Artemis down before summoning a key in my hand and opening the door.

"Stephanie, Aj, we're home! You guys here?" I call as I enter.


The forest appears to be rather quaint on the house's side, however Sgavrinn can see what appears to be corpses and skeletons further along in the forest.

 

Sgavrinn, not new to this, runs.

 

"Stephanie, you home?" I call out from within the house, glancing back at Rineth.

Artemis and Abigail head into the house too, and someone familiar walks over, their head bandaged and their right eye black.

"Stephanie got kidnapped," Aj says, "I think her parents found her."

"What!?" Artemis exclaims.

"You just let them take her!?" I ask, shocked.

"No, I tried to stop them but they punched me in the face before knocking me out," Aj says, "They also called me a rapist..."

"This is really bad..." I say, panicking slightly.

"I can't believe her parents managed to find her..." Artemis says in disbelief.

 

"The fuck is my wife when I need her?" Rineth snaps.

 

"Where do her parents even live?" Abigail asks.

"No idea. All she's ever really said about them is that she ran away from them when she could." I say.

"I don't know how we're going to be able to find her, honestly. There doesn't appear to be much to track." Artemis says, worried.

"I'm also doing fine..." Aj says, slightly annoyed, "Her parents kidnapped her a couple of days ago, by the way. They had this fancy black limousine."

"Must be rich if they can afford a car like that." Abigail says casually.

 

Rineth warps away, soon returning with an enraged Linoa.
"I'M NOT DONE WITH MY DUEL ASSHOLE!"
"WE NEED YOU NOW!"
"OH, SO NOW YOU NEED ME?!"

 

Abigail, Artemis and I whisper to each other, often glancing at Rineth and Linoa.

Aj quickly walks away, heading into another room to hide.

 

"YOU SNUCK A VOODOO DOLL OF HER AND I KNOW IT, NOW HELP US FIND HER!"
"SHUT UP, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SECRET!"
"CLEARLY NOT SECRET NOW! PLEASE JUST RELAX A BIT!"

 

Artemis and I try to sneak out of the room while Abigail plays with her visor, sitting down on a sofa.

 

After a second, Linoa seems to calm down.
"Okay, but Muffy'll hate you for that. So, what do you need?"
"While you had Muffin snag Stephanie's knowledge of voodoo and made a doll of her, did you learn how to track people with the doll, or heal them?" Rineth asks, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Heal, but not tracking. Sorry."
"Damnit. I thought you said-"
"I didn't know she'd go off and get herself kidnapped!" Linoa groans.

 

Abigail spins through some crystals on her gauntlet wheel, eventually stopping on a luminous one and shooting a rainbow of light from her right hand idly.

 

A cat... of sorts... leaps out of nowhere, playfully bounding into the light. It seems to be a hybrid of sorts, but fur as black as a witch's cat.
"Muffy, what the hell are you doing?!" Linoa demands, annoyed.
"Mrow!"
