Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Sgavrinn's sleep is undisturbed, Sgavrinn only woken by the sound of the television in the morning.

 

He yawns, tail thumping rhythmically against the floor as he looks at the tv.

 

The television seems to be on a news report of recent events, one of them being the concert the day before. Artemis, Abigail and I watch the television while casually eating cereal; Abigail in her pyjamas.

 

Sgavrinn watches to make sure it said nothing bad happened before growing and eating a few flowers off the remainder of his tail.

 

The news doesn't seem to report anything too terrible, though there is a report of an attempted murder. However, it appears the attempt was far from both Abigail's house and the concert.

 

Sgavrinn just curls up, drifting off a bit as he waits for the others to decide what to do.

 

"I'm thinking about going to the arcade today. You guys wanna come?" Abigail asks.

"Sure, sounds like fun." I say happily.

"It sounds like an exciting day out!" Artemis says happily.

 

Sgavrinn seems confused, again.
"Can I go too?"

 

"Of course!" Artemis says, laughing and petting Sgavrinn.

 

He nuzzles her, curious.
"What's an arcae?" He asks, forgetting a letter.

 

"An arcade is a place where you can play video games with a lot of other people!" Artemis responds simply, smiling.

 

"I think I'll just stick with watching, as usual."

 

"Alright. We'll keep you safe." Artemis says happily.

Abigail finishes her cereal before going upstairs to change.

 

Sgavrinn seems to be glancing uneasily at seemingly nothing. It doesn't take long for it to make sense...
"Artemis? How'd Sapphire find here? She looks like she needs a heat resist charm." Sgavrinn asks.

 

Artemis glares in the direction Sgavrinn was glancing, checking back on her bow and quiver resting by the sofa she was sleeping on.

 

Sapphire leaves her masquerade mask and a letter at the door before going through a shadow portal that quickly disappears.

 

I seem to notice the portal, tracing the route and creating one of my own to the same location.

"I'll be right back." I say to Artemis, serious, before stepping through the portal.

Artemis heads over to the letter, reading it.

 

It seems to be an apology written by Xlentia apologizing to Abigail for the "insolence of her subjects outside of her palace," also stating that Sapphire had been dishonorably discharged from her position as commander.

You arrive in the portal room just in time to see a puppet sink through a portal, a tight seal between it and the portal that forces you to trace instead of follow.

 

Artemis hands the letter to Abigail once she heads back downstairs.

"Letter for you, Abigail." Artemis says as she hands Abigail the letter.

"Oh? Who's it from?" Abigail asks, reading the letter more intently and carefully than Artemis.


I sigh, somewhat relieved, heading back through my own portal.

 

"Abigail,
I hope you can forgive the insolence of my subjects. For their actions to scare and torment you, Linoa has been demoted and Sapphire has been dishonorably discharged from her rank as commander. I have also given you her mask so you have a large influence over her; without it, she cannot hide. A stealth fighter uncloked is a weak fighter.
