Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis grows a bed of flowers under Sapphire, straightening her out with vines so she doesn't get cramped.

 

Hours later, she stirs.
"O-o-oh..." She groans.

 

A huge, dark pink fruit dangles above Sapphire, connected to the tree next to her.

 

Sapphire takes it and takes a bite out of it, shivering.

 

The fruit's way too large to even fit both of Sapphire's arms around, but it tastes extremely sweet, though not overpoweringly. A yellow-white flesh resides inside the fruit.

 

Sapphire continues working on the fruit until full, steadily shivering harder as she goes.

 

The fruit starts to get bitter the further in Sapphire bites, the skin darkening until it's black. After one of the deeper bites, Sapphire almost feels poisoned.

 

She hurls, before disappearing through a portal after a yelp.

Another hour later, she's dropped back where she had been, charred and twitching.

 

The fruit's still there, albeit regenerated slightly from how much it had been eaten. Most of the group seems to be getting ready for night.

 

Sapphire remains there, though Linoa provides a light regeneration spell.

 

After a short while, the fruit splits open, two halves of it opening up as Artemis drops out of it, walking over to me as I walk out of a portal. The pair of us converse for a bit, before Artemis and I head back through the portal.

 

Sgavrinn tries to worm through the portal as Linoa sits down near the iceberg, Sapphire showing no signs of healing.
"I'm sorry about all the fuss. I only remember putting up a barrier between Abigail and the water to keep her out."

 

Sgavrinn almost gets himself torn in half as he just manages to make it through a portal to Abigail's volcano.


"I just hope she's ok..." Katie says, worried.

 

He lets out a scream as he loses a few scales off his tail.


"If it means anything, so do I."
Pause.
"I, um... talked to my husband. I can tell when I'm not welcome, so I was gonna head back tomorrow evening."

 

Artemis and I turn around, shocked.

"Why'd you try and follow us, Sgavrinn?" Artemis asks, concerned.


"Oh, ok." Katie says passively.

 

He just, literally, licks his wound, occupied.


"If you can handle not attacking anyone, I'll show you the cafe before I go." Linoa offers.

 

Artemis and I descend into Abigail's volcano, taking a staircase down toward her house.


"That'd be nice." Katie says, smiling lightly.

 

After a minute, Sgavrinn vinedrops himself down after you.


"Let me know when you're ready." Linoa says, heading towards the desert.

 

Katie swims across the lake, grabbing her double trident as she gets off her iceberg, before following Linoa.

 

After she gets to the desert, she signals Abigail to come along.
"Fair warning, they don't serve you if you don't check your weapons at the entry." She says, offering to help Katie onto her staff.
