Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What the hell are you doing!?" The water guardian exclaims, manly voice suited to an obviously male water guardian.

 

"G-going home!" Sapphire squeaks, blushing as she picks up and puts her mask back on, fully cloaking.

 

"Well then you'd better go home quickly before any of the guards find you here." The water guardian says, glancing back at the elevator.

 

Sapphire deletes her console commands, and takes off her mask again.
"T-that's no way t-to treat a g-general." She squeaks, serpentine puppet rising from a portal in the ground, appearing to eat her, then sink back as the portal closes.

A dejected Sapphire slumps against a tree back at the base camp.

 

"AAAAAGH!" The water guardian screams in fear, terrified by the puppet.


Nobody disturbs Sapphire, everyone around her mostly relaxing.

 

Sapphire looks for Artemis.
"Hey, um... I-I really f-fucked up..."

 

Artemis sits in one of the trees, in the upper branches.

"How so?" Artemis asks.

 

"I-I'm behind Abigail and Linoa getting mad at each other..."

 

"You're the one who made this conflict?" Artemis asks, shocked.

 

"I-I punched Abigail, who blamed Linoa... then the things Linoa said that scared Abigail was her talking to me... I-I knew I messed up when I punched her, s-so I asked Linoa to kill me..."

 

"How could you knock Abigail out like that, and cause her all these problems. Do you even consider yourself her friend?" Artemis asks.

 

"N-not anymore..." Sapphire cries. "I j-just didn't want her to kill the person w-who saved my life..."

 

"And who was that?" Artemis asks.

 

"One of t-the Anubi that tried to separate her and Stephanie... their culture says they should split up victim and attacker, and Abigail was going to melt them for it before I could explain to the Anubi our situation... so I punched her."

 

"Are you certain Abigail was going to melt them? Because Abigail told me she was just going to escape with Stephanie before you punched her." Artemis says, disappointed with Sapphire.

 

"Her h-hands were flaming, and the Anubi were in her flight path until I told them to draw fake weapons... in which case she still put them in her flight path."

 

"I still think you shouldn't have knocked her out." Artemis says, crossing her arms, doubtful of Sapphire's story.

 

"I know... I just wanted t-to say I'm sorry... a-and that I'm being punished by Xlentia for it, plus whatever you d-deem I should suffer t-through..."

 

"I should have to suffer through gaining an official notice that excuses you from punishment," Artemis says, sighing, "You haven't done anything that terrible, and you were torn between decisions. I don't want you to suffer, Sapphire. There are many times I may condone torture and suffering, but this is not one of those times. You made a mistake, and you should be allowed to learn from that on your own."

 

"U-u-um..."
Stressed out, Sapphire just collapses.
