So this is what happened.

It's an alliance of three robots. So it's us and two others on a team. One of our alliance members took way too long climbing their rope. The timer hit 0 and they were at the top of the rope and touching the button, but not pushing the button in far enough for the light to go off.

If we had just 1 more second, we would have won by 1 point. But since we did not, we lose by 49.

So we got third place (if we won, we would have been on the finals)

HOWEVER, there's a bright side.

There's still one competition before regionals. We are still allowed to attend that one and try to win there. Which is what another really good team did, they fell off their rope during a tiebreaker and lost, but then still went to another competition

 

Ouch. Well, I hope that competition goes well.
