so everyone knows the shower and the toilet are the best places to think. And finally, after eating too many cookies for my sick stomach to handle, I came up with the first post-worthy theory I've had in a while (hey, gotta keep my theory throne somehow).

So in my Lit class we analysize poems and pose a lot, when when you analysize something you need to watch out for the two meanings if he text. The literal meaning is what the text is actually trying to say. The figurative meaning is what is says about the human condition.

For example, "the white flames licked the house". Literally this means that the house was burning down. Figuratively the white color represents purity, showing the the character's lack of experience with tragedy. See, easy?

Anyway, today on the sh*tter I decided to apply the same concepts to Wynn. The literal meaning is easy, a hero that goes around the provinces helping people and finding secrets. But being incomplete, I can't pin a figurative meaning on it. I can, however, come up with figurative meanings for each of the 4 (3 + 0.5 + 0.5) provinces.

    ---

    Wynn: Corruption

This one seems obvious, but I don't mean Undead type corruption. I mean governmental corruption. The highest powers in Wynn are the most corrupt things he have ever seen in Wynncraft. The king of Ragni has a rebellion working against him due to his oppressiveness. Almuj won't let you into their bank unless you do some super deed for the city, which most people don't do. Heck, the king of Troms works with a Dern-cult. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

An argument could also be made for uselessness. No matter how many undead you kill, no matter how many times you slay the world corrupter, there's always still Undead around. No matter what you do, you don't matter. You don't change anything.

    ---

    Gavel: Unavoidability of death

At a glance this quite obviously looks like Greed. Greed for emeralds caused the Decay. But I don't think that's the main point, as the decay really has really only touched 2 out of the like 8 biomes in Gavel. No, it's what the decay stands for.

It's the fact that death can not be avoided. The first is slowly dying, and yet no one can change it. I recently completed the Lazerous Pit, and all it taught (other than a pool per province) is that when the dude had a fatal disease, he want as far as to seek the waters of immortality itself to stop it. The decay makes everything die, and the unavoidability of it is what makes it the most scary.

    ---

    Fruma: Greed

Here is Greed. This could also be oppression, but that stems off of greed in this situation. The high queen of Fruma is so greedy for magic and power, she neglects her people. She wants so much to become a goddess, she will capture magic users for her own goals.

She is greedy for power, and reflecting back on the absolute power quote earlier, she has fallen in her search for power. This shows the greed that inhabits her, and the negative effect it exerts on the people through her.

    ---

    Dern: Fear of the unknown

What do we know about Dern? It's dark. We think a creature called "the eye" lives there. WynnExcavation and the ancients has some ties there (we think). Nothing else really. Yet we fear it.

We are scared of Dern, as it's this looming darkness on the horizon. This force intended on killing all light. Yet we know almost nothing. What lives there, their motives, their wants. We paint this horrible picture of Dern without really knowing anything. It's our fear of the unknown that causes this, and that is its lesson.

    ---

    Corkus: Obsession

Believing that the ends always justify the means. Corkians are SO obsessed with their island becoming a province. They make war machines to sell just for recognition. Their obsession has led to the oppression of the Avos, the island's rightful rulers, as well as ruining the island with ruested and dysfunctional bits of tech and metal.

This obsession for recognition and becoming a province has turned the Corkians bad. They want this so badly, to the point of obsession, but are the means really worth it?

    ---

So yeah. That's my theory on the figurative meaning of Wynn, and what each province says about the human condition.

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse :
    Wynn :
War, Undead came and a war happened in Wynn doing a lot of deaths.
Gavel : Pestilence, The decay is killing everybody, they are all sick because of this.
Fruma : Famine, an Evil queen is controlling everything and everybody, we don't know their story but a lot of them might be poor and die of this.
Dern : Death, you know why, a dark place where lives a lot of powerful monsters.
Corkus : Conquest, Pestilence is sometimes replaced by Conquest, Corkians took an Island from the Avos and now try to be know as a Province.

    Seven Deadly Sins :
    Elf :
Pride, they want so show us that they are the best community and that they are pure.
Villager : Greed, they want money, and when they have enough money, they still want money.
Corkians : Gluttony, they want to show to the world that they can became a province.
Doguns : Wrath, they have lost their home because of the Dwarves during a war.
Dwarves : Lust, they took the Molten Heights from the Doguns to construct their own towns.
Humans : Sloth, during the quests in Wynn you can see that most of them need you for easy tasks and they were in need to wait for heroes to help then against the Corruption.
Players : Envy, they left Fruma to discover a new world a new capacities, the magic.

All the places you travel in have a deadly problem...
All the peoples you help during your quests might not be the best example you can have...

I did this more like "communities" than "races", humans just live in their cities/homes and players travel around the world. ^^

    There is 4 :
    War.
    Death.
    Famine.

The 4th is either Conquest or Pestilence, it depends of the story. ^^

I wanted to use the blue curtain meme example, but that may be opposite of my point.

    "The curtains were blue"

Teacher: "The author means The blue of the curtains are meant to reflect the characters loss and depression"

Author: "I mean the curtains are f***inf blue"

    Except this is not stupid
